Your true colors sure show thru with that message! Your comment is so far out of line - if you must think that way, please keep it to yourself.
Think thru what you blurt out here before you post such lunacy in the future. I think you know how many people argued over whether he should should have taken the "don't ask don't tell stance" and all for what? I am not a supporter of the LGBT group but I do not knock them for having the free agency to make their own choice.
I think that running a company that has made record profits and innovated in a number of significant ways over the last 3 (or less) years is enough to have kept him busy even if some of these were in the works longer than that.
Maybe I am reading this wrong. If the user no longer has their iPhone, how is the person supposed to receive a confirmation code to confirm their intent? Is it going to be sent to your new phone? If so, what stops a stranger or an ex-girlfriend or boyfriend from deregistering someone else?
I am sure I am reading this wrong, right?
Upon further thought, I realize that the authentication must be through your iCloud.
I tried it out and it just sent a regular sms text message with a code to put into the 2nd form entry on the webpage. You receiving a plain text message on your phone prevents other people from screwing with you unless they have access to your phone.

It's sent to your phone number, which you ported to a non-iPhone.

They don't have your phone with your phone number to get the SMS with the deactivation code.

I know, why would such a glaring hole in security be a prority?
I must be missing something. You switch away from iPhone and don't get your texts because they stay as iMessage and can't get to your android device... Inconvenient but how is that a security issue?
Because Tim Cook had more important things on his mind, like deciding whether to reveal his sexual orientation to the world or not.
Your intent is odious, but your words carry an accidental truth. In the grander scheme of things, for its potential impact on many closeted and afraid people, it probably is more important that he revealed his sexual orientation to the world.
Because it is a better product with options and variety.
@joshuarayer:
...and tons of Malware (which Knox doesn't do diddly about), pirated software, most made of plastic, stolen IP and a shop full of engineers behind it that wouldn't know which way to turn if Apple wasn't there to help guide them, and of course no reliable system upgrade path unless your manufacturer gives a shit about doing an upgrade (which they apparently don't sense they are apparently making such a small profit on each phone), oh I almost forgot those guys that love to load you up with crapware that can't be removed.
'Better' -- that is highly subjective and most here would not agree, 'options' both iOS and and Android have options, and as far as 'variety' goes I think with Apple's latest release of iPhones, iPads and the announcement of the watch along with a refresh of the mini's, the 5K iMac, the new Mac Pro, the laptops... and Continuity, well that says it quite well I think.
You can stay with your Android if you like, and feel free to express your opinions -- just know that most don't think very highly of them.

Now give it a rest, you disgusting, repellant troll.

It's not a sect, nor a church. It's a tech company that may or may not deliver a product as good as their advertisement says it is.
In that respect, as it took three years to fix this irritating issue, it was NOT as good as the ads say. It did not "just work".
Blasphemy!!
Because Cook is the programmer-cum-designer-cum-adcreator-cum-hardwareguy-cum-ceo at Apple.
Impressive guy.
Or maybe you're just drunk.
I see what you did there.
I think Benjamin is pulling your/our collective legs, lighten up, everyone!
Great! Now why did it take so long?

Why would anyone switch to Android?

Are you trying to burn down the village for kicks, or did you not get "initiated" to be this unhappy?
He has a point though. I'm still looking for a version of iPhone with integrated hair dryer, fridge and malware.
