They support ASP and you can even upload an access database. The site is by developers for developers. Its a great idea. I bet you can find one like it using PHP.
By the way, ASP is a lot faster than PHP. But if you have to stay with Unix (probably a good idea anyway), I'd go with JSP. That way you're sort of learning Java at the sametime. JSP is a great web scripting language, you can get everything you need to run it for you Mac and FOR FREE!
PHP, MySql usually don't come free unless you know some one who runs a site. I get access to it for free. But I just dink around with it just for kicks, nothing serious.

If you run ANYTHING worth a damn on the net you'll need to buy your hosting plans... people don't just give away PHP, mySQL, CGI etc.
