Yosemite Junk Mail Filters Do Not Work

Since Yosemite my mail junk mail filters do not work. I mark mail as junk, but it still goes to my inbox. There are lots of discussion groups on Apple's support site where users voice the same concerns. I finally called Apple support. The first tech checked my settings, which were fine, then checked with a senior person. What I was told was that junk mail filters on mac mail do not work on iCloud accounts. How is this not big news and how could tech support not know this? Is anyone else having this problem?

    This same thing has happened to me.  I am going crazy.  I can't understand how they could have released this with such a huge glitch. (!)
