This is to be expected. Since Apple didn't shake up their mgmt, why would Sammy not copy Apple?

Thank you so much for your insightful and carefully researched analysis. Such fresh and independent thinking is just what a forum like this requires. It makes such a refreshing change from all the dumb trolls with their empty insults.

I don't know anything about this guy, but it seems to me that the issue here for Samsung is far more fundamental than any one person.

It seems to me that Samsung is an engineering-driven company, not a design-driven company (ok let's set aside that it's actually a nepotism-driven company). That means that Samsung is good at implementing other people's ideas, not at coming up with ideas of their own. This makes Samsung a great component supplier.

And there's nothing wrong with that! It's a perfectly cromulent business model.

I think Samsung management should (and apparently is) regard the profits they've made from their mobile division as a freak, one-time thing. Best to just take that money and use it to build a better factory for making displays or NAND chips or whatever.

You didn't add anything either. Yet that didn't stop you from offering up nothing you expected from others.

What part of the article was just opinion?

Agreed. Apple has done a brilliant job of taking all the profits from the higher end products, and leaving the crumbs for the rest. From a business standpoint, gaining market share is not much good if you don't profit from it.

Personally, I think this FANTASTIC news! These idiots are the reason Scamsung is in the shape it's in right now, let them stay on as dead weight to help accelerate the sinking of this useless ship.

Thinking up their own ideas and dropping Android for Tizen is their only option for any sort of recovery. If they carry on with low profit Android phones packed with stolen IP they'll soon capsize. Mainly because other companies are better at producing phones than Samsung.

They'll become the next Blackberry if they aren't careful. I see that Blackberry are having 1 last shot with a Blackberry 10 with a keyboard. Maybe Samsung should go back to doing old school flip phones and phones with keypads.

I don't think hiring better upper management will really help their mobile products, which will never be much better than the OS they're based on.

Any headlines that begin with the words "Samsung declines" should be more exciting than this.

    It's already working!!!

Every time I see a commercial for their phones, I flip off my TV...

And then I flip the channel.

samsung actually is the number 1 smartphone maker in the world volume wise,  nokia used to be no1 too.    2015   could be a worse year than 2014 for smartphone makers.

Why do you think its Apple Fault , they are responsible for their profits and loss
