DVD copying

OK, is it possible to completely copy a DVD that I get at say blockbuster onto my computer and then burn the disk using ANY currently available software? (meaning PC OR Mac)
I am betting that it isn't... bvut i'd like to make sure...

Don't you need something like DCSS to do that. Do a google search on DVD Ripping.

the single layer burning only kind of limits any possibilities of direct copies.
it is possible to extract the video and an audio track and just those may fit within the 4.7GB. just no extras or secondary audio tracks
