Those guys can go to hell.

Uh, seriously, this site has to be a joke, right?

I mean, what the hell is this:

Can't say I've seen that before...

    OMFG - check <a href="http://members.truepath.com/objective/mallmission.html"; target="_blank">this out</a>

    It's hilarious!!

    About store naming:

J.C. Penny - The J.C. makes us think of Jesus Christ, thus associating our Lord with the lowest monetary value, the penny (even Judas valued Him at 30 pieces of silver!).

Sears - What the flesh of the damned does in Hell. It also sounds like "seers", Pagan mystics who engaged in occult premonitions.

Cinnabon - Sounds like "Sin Upon".

Orange Julius - Named for the Pagan Emperor of Rome. This company's mascot was once a devil, until they changed it to hide their true intentions.

    And this:

"Darth Maul": Commercialized symbol of evil whose name sounds like "mall". Coincidence?

    ROTFL!!!

Damn, that is one genuine looking farce site.

    Oh, those are great.

I've seen that site all over the place, but after reading the Apple bit, funny as hell, and imagining all of the idiots falling for it and lambasting the author and arguing about it on forums I just had too much of a headache to go on.

What's scary is that it is not a farce site. Think Jesse Helms/Pat Robertson/Jerry Falwell followers and we've got their readership. I get shivers just thinking about it.

    This is my favorite part:

However, these propagandists aren't just targeting the young. Take for example Apple Computers, makers of the popular Macintosh line of computers. The real operating system hiding under the newest version of the Macintosh operating system (MacOS X) is called... Darwin! That's right, new Macs are based on Darwinism! While they currently don't advertise this fact to consumers, it is well known among the computer elite, who are mostly Atheists and Pagans. Furthermore, the Darwin OS is released under an "Open Source" license, which is just another name for Communism. They try to hide all of this under a facade of shiny, "lickable" buttons, but the truth has finally come out: Apple Computers promote Godless Darwinism and Communism.

Actually, torifile, I think it is a fake.

    Most definitely.

The Church of the Mighty Lamb is a couple of guys who parody the religious right with all kinds of crap. They're very good at their satire, and about half the people who read the site don't realize it's fake.

I've talked to them personally, though. I actually got into a little trouble over their "Darth Maul = Darth PIMP!" spoof. The pic includes Darth Maul surrounded by two naked (but censored, of course) women, with the heads obviously pasted in via Photoshop. I posted this in their guestbook, thinking that the faces were of two men, presumably the site's creators.

The actual site's creators were not amused; although the heads were pasted on, they were actually of two women who'd happened to be friends of theirs. However, they confirmed that all they do is parody. That's when I suggested the Pokemon and Apple parodies. I actually suggested "Microsoft = SATANsoft!" also, but it looks like they haven't done that yet.<hr></blockquote>

I would say it's a little too convincing to be considered satire. The first time I read it, I was sure it was real. Really crazy, that is. As in, whoever put it together totally believed what they were saying, and that they were, clearly, bonkers. Now that I understand that it's fake, upon re-reading... ... it is funny.

However, I consider it a hoax rather than satire. They seem (to me) to be trying very hard to convince you that it's real. Satire doesn't do that.

It's a fine line, I admit. Maybe I'm just miffed because I was fooled.

Ah,they had me fooled. The page on Game Theory is pretty clever.I did a web search for all the people mentioned on the site and the only mention of them was on this site so I guess it really is a parody, but I am still not completely sure.

I might as well get "gullible" tattoed to my forehead. I thought it was real. I guess I've seen sooo much of this stuff on the internet that wasn't fake (just look at anything by the Birchers) that my gullibility threshold has been lowered. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

Its certainly more subtle than the Onion...

Sorry to inform you, but this is not a hoax. Just saw the good doctor on CNN. Dr. Richard Paley is the President's advisor on religion in education.

At first, I, too, did not believe. As I read more, however, my eyes began to open and the evil Apple brain washing began to fade. I have had a true epiphany. As soon as I'm finished posting this, I'm using a sledgehammer on my G4 and Cinema Display. I will pray for the rest of you. Reread his scriptures. Salvation is only a mouse click away.

Do you have any links - because I can't find any.I was trying earlier to find out if this was real or not and since I couldn't find independent articles on any of the people or organizations mentioned (other than ones attacked) in the articles I assumed it was satire.

It's bogus. They spend a lot of time criticizing the Landover Baptist spoof site, but they both use the same e-commerce site to sell their merchandise.

Kind of reminds me when 68k created Mad~Tool and Miss Tron to attack him and establish some kind of notariety. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

I mean, look at this quote from the bio's:

[quote]If you ever need your taxes filed, come see Tim. He gives a 5% discount for all Christians and 10% discount for non-Christians willing to convert on the spot.<hr></blockquote>

    Come on.

And they mention a church, but they don't mention a city and state so you can check them out. Seems very odd, when the "church staff" is featured so prominently.

Oh, and I just sent an email to "Dr. Richard Paley" who teaches "theobiology" and the email bounced. Surprise, surprise.

Then I sent an email to Timothy Allmon, the tax man. It bounced.

Then I tried to send an email to "Dr. Troy Franklin" at his "antioccult.org" email address. That domain isn't even registered!

Then I tried to send an email to "Diamond Jack"; his domain isn't registered!

    Jose Rosas? Bogus email.

    Fred "Skeet" Hoskins? Bogus email.

    Move along, folks, there's nothing to see here... <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

Oh, and Kyle Goldman's email also bounced.

So, out of 10 email addresses, 7 are bogus, and two of those are for invalid domains.

The remain three email addresses are webmail accounts that anyone can establish. I've emailed them for a church address and phone number, but have yet to hear back. I'm not gonna hold my breath.

clearly its a satire, but not a good one. they missed the nature and meaning behind satire. Satire is supposed to present the material to the afflicted, in such a manner as they realize the commentary (and can therefore consider personal changes). In aide of that end, many satirists use comedy. I large percents of people question if they are sincere, then they clearly aren't making their true objectives clear.

dahm, i hayt to git byrned.

I did a web search for the Association of Christian Game Theorists and no such organization exists,at least on the web.Whoever wrote this section is obviously a game theorist of at least some ability. What a great satire, the guy's picture is perfect.
