I wouldn't be against a ban on porn... mainly because I have none and it tends to take up an assload of bandwidth that could be used for better things.

If we set up an eDonkey thing it doesn't use a whole lot of bandwidth but it does eat up processor cycles.
And since we're using our own bandwidth to swap files the hub server isn't responsible for getting everyone their files.
I'd love to set up a Carracho server myslef. I;m behind a cable modem, a router, and an Airport base station, and I can't figure out how to make the stupid server work.
I hate the way the Carracho client software is creashy when connected to a faraway server. I keep getting crahes when connected to an Australian server with good porn.

I don't download it, I view pr0n online because I got all the AVS passwerds
But anyway... eDonkey is worthless. It's all Terminal-based, and verbose, and just very annoying to put up with and use. Far too many commands to know. A waste of time.
The best bet would just be a Hotline or Carracho server someplace where we could all contribute, or somehow trade. Then again, there is the IRC channel, and DCC.. that always works. But then again, the IRC network probably wouldn't like us spreading that around. And there are enough of those mac warez irc channels already.
So I'm stumped. If only eDonkey worked great and had a GUI as great as Hotline or even a substandard one like LimeWire... They say it IS coming soon, though.
Also, I have about 8-10GB of stuff, not including my mp3s.
ok, got my computer back up and running. lost a little more than i thought, but here's how it breaks down.
1. MP3's 26GB. Most of these are full albums, ranges anywhere from 128 at the lowest, to 320 at the highest. Most fall between 160-192.
2. Movies. Only 9 Gigs of movies. I lost a bunch of these as they were on the active drive. The only ones left though are good ones, encoded well with quality picture and sound. Also a large archive of Beavis and Butthead episodes.
3. Mac Software. 9 Gigs of Mac software. Most of these I can share the programs, not the SN's.
4. Misc files. 12 GB. Mostly PC stuff, probably some movies/music.
That's all the survived the great cleaning. Had my machine down to a firmware BIOS. Only thing it could do anymore was boot off a floppy. Sad state of affairs. But all's well now, and i'll have to start up my collection again.

edit: oh yeah, and 7 GB of porn, but we aren't counting that.

i'm down to about 70 Gigs now though, just had to toast my RAID to try and get things back up and running.
now to fdisk and format. what a pain in the ass.
all to get a stupid game console to run through my computer. what a dumb ass way to go down.

That's what I normally do too but I figured every guy's gotta have at least a little bit of porn. Guess I was wrong.

I'd like to try eDonkey if (when) I get my PC set up and running. My CPU is in the mail.
