Take 10 minutes one day and jailbreak your phone.  After that, welcome to the good life.  You can use something called StoreAlert to block that annoyance. ;)

Jailbreak? LOL, it's so 2012. Move on. With jailbreak, there's no peace of mind...and with Apple Pay or other financial info in iPhone. No, thanks.

2012? No piece of mind? O_o

Jailbreaking has become much simpler and the amount of content grows every day.  Maybe it isn't for everyone but the fact remains that it is safe and there are very simple tweaks that fix little annoyances like the one described.

Cydia is a registered corporation. If it were scamming people or stealing financial information, the US government would not allow the corporation to continue doing business and pay state and federal taxes just as any other legitimate business.

Is it safe for your device? Yes. Although anyone installing new repos should try to find outside documentation on tweaks/apps before installing them. That's common sense for Cydia repos the same as it is for Windows programs/utilities found on the web.  For those who are new, they should prob stick to standard/default repos for what they want to install until they feel comfortable venturing out further. Again, same thing for any other computer or device that a person is using; it's really is no different. For this users case, he/she can leave it at only adding StoreAlert to solve the annoyance and be done.

Most of the items I enjoy are simple ones like the ability to access the 'Hey Siri' command without having to keep my iPhone plugged in.  There are loads of tweaks like that
