...it'll have to be viruses...

In the past month I have received dozens of emails with them.

Such as:

TABINDEX class.exe, MEULA.HTM from maxok4 [email protected]

MEULA.exe, MEULA.HTM from dbas [email protected]

ACCESSKEY class.bat, MCONNECT.HTM from romeo_must_die_dm <[email protected]

ACCESSKEY class.scr, MINSTALL.HTM pres [email protected]

Romeo must die I get every other day. Also received an email like this one a couple of times...

"Please contact your Helpdesk

The infected component in the scanned document was deleted.

Virus Information:

The attachment games.yahoo[1].exe contained the virus W32.Klez.gen@mm and was deleted."

Maybe all real or maybe hoaxes derived from Spam (I get about only 20 Spam's a day). Still, I thought I would pass the addresses and info to anyone who may use Windows machines at work or on a regular basis (I also contacted my ISP).

Me? I hope I never have to touch another filthy POS Windows OS/PC ever again.

    Yeah, I get all those plus more. However, its because I work in I.S. and we block all those at our Internet Email Gateway and those viruses are stripped before they ever reach our Exchange servers. And I have them forwarded to me. No biggie though, so I doubt it will crush Microsoft. If anything it makes them stronger because companies like Norton are thriving off them so they will always push for Microsoft buisness products. Now home use, thats a different story.............

    Actually, that's what I DO hope. That the average consumer finally relents. I would have.

    What average consumer has time to update their virus definitions much less even have their virus software installed or upgraded?

    TO ALL CONSUMERS...SICK OF VIRUS ATTACKS? GET A MAC! and a good virus detection program

    Actually I did. Three months ago I was 100% winintel home user. Now I am 100% apple user at home and love ever second on my new ibook and superdrive imac. Now if only Citrix would make a OSX client, man I could/would do all my work on my mac. I guess apple doesn't try to get into big businesses too much, but seems to concentrate on consumer home use, which is fine by me. Either way, I love my mac's!! (acutally the imac is my girlfriends, but she lets me touch......the mac that is)

    <idea!>

    What Apple should do is buy out or create their own anti-virus application...

    Call it iVac!

    </idea!>

    I use Virex myself...got it for free...sorta...well, when I downloaded it form Versiontracker it didn't have a time lock or registration key...Oh well, I guess McaFee doesn't make too much money on it anyway?
