    LOL! I'm so embarrassed you saw that!

    Actually I only removed it because it was looking kind of bad with my dock sometimes, and I generally have just made a habit of removing all advertisements from my desktops.. Especially the huge goddamn annoying ones on desktops from <a href="http://www.tazl.com/"; target="_blank">some people</a>. But don't get me wrong, yours isn't that bad. It's just as cute as the rest of your site and all of the things you make. I love it all!

    I found it after a very enjoyable browse through here:

    <a href="http://www.thinker.org/fam/advancedsearch.html"; target="_blank">http://www.thinker.org/fam/advancedsearch.html</a>;

    Just search on "Japan" and 19th or 18th century. This particular image is by Hokusai, called The Plum and the Moon, but Hiroshige has some great ones also.

    It did require a little fooling around with their zoom tool and some quick photoshoppin' to piece it together, but it's worth it! Of course, if you like this one in particular, let me know and I can email it to you (save you some time)...

    edit: thank you ... made my own. gorgeous.

    I see some of you like my desktop picture, well feel free to download it, but I only have it in three resolutions, and I have no idea where the original Photoshop picture is now.

    * Links removed, adress has changed. See a newer post. *

    Enjoy!

    (I hope I'm not breaking any copyright laws with this.)

    Yea... the "9" means classic is running, the "X" means OS X is running.

    hey, why should we laugh at you ? Questions are here to be answered, no ?

    1:

    - make a screenshot of your desktop (cmd+shift+3)

    - open it in an image editing application an make the file size smaller by converting it into an .jpg (for example)

    - open your iDisk (get one at <a href="http://www.apple.com/itools/"; target="_blank">apple -itools</a>)

    - drag and drop your edited screenshot to your public folder (for example) (it can also be the pictures folder)

    - now, the link of your picture is something like <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/youridisk/.Public/picture.jpg"; target="_blank">http://homepage.mac.com/youridisk/.Public/picture.jpg</a>;

    (pay attention: if you write public instead of Public, it won't work.

    - post an reply, then click on the "image" tab by the "instant UBB code" range, and paste your specific link in there.

    2. go to something like <a href="http://xicons.macnn.com/"; target="_blank">Xicons</a>

    3. Have Fun !

    mac's girl, all you have to do is go to show info (file menu) and copy the icon from there. Then just chose the foler you want the icon to go on (with show info still open) and then paste the icon and that should be it.

    Been a lurker for too long so I am now a registered member of AppleInsider. [welome Rob] Thank you.

    Now as to my first post:

    I notice that most everyone that has posted their desktops use their docks a "where the h*ll else am I going to put it" catch-all. I didn't realize that so many people would use it as a launcher. Does it work well? Do you have trouble accidentally opening the wrong thing at the wrong time? Any other tips/Apps/Hacks to share with the group?

    I would love to hear the different ways that so many people probably have of doing the same thing.

    I took the liberty of starting a new thread in general discussion (hope that is okay) with the Title "Quick tips and suggestions" and here is the link (I hope).

    <a href="http://forums.appleinsider.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=10&t=001494"; target="_blank">http://forums.appleinsider.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=10&t=001494</a>;
