I think those are just apps with a special icon. I would just code a simple app that quit on launch.

Damn, I need to set my prefs to show more than a day worth of posts - I completely forgot about this thread and haven't answered any questions!

Thanks for posting that link for pennywise, starflleet.

As for the grass, I got the little app from Version Tracker - Mac Guru is right. I used their app to mix a couple of icons together and make all of those.

It's a pain though unless all icons are done - it looks stupid otherwise. I was always having something pop up that didn't have grass, and it looked crappy - so I got rid of everything that night anyway.

    Here's my new desktop:

Always wondered what was under there.

Actually, it's a shiteload easier than coding an app.

Apply the divider icon to a folder and name it something (my dividers are Graphics, Internet, Misc, Utilities and Non-Docked) then add .app to the name. Drag to the dock and it will add it to the applications side where you can use it to divide the apps.

    - make a screenshot of your desktop (cmd+shift+3)

    - open it in an image editing application an make the file size smaller by converting it into an .jpg (for example)

    - open your iDisk (get one at <a href="http://www.apple.com/itools/"; target="_blank">apple -itools)

    - drag and drop your edited screenshot to your public folder (for example) (it can also be the pictures folder)

    - now, the link of your picture is something like <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/youridisk/.Public/picture.jpg"; target="_blank">http://homepage.mac.com/youridisk/.Public/picture.jpg;

to thumbnail the image, save 2 images to the location in the iDisk, one called image.jpg and the other image-thumb.jpg save it as: <URL=link to image.jpg><IMG>link to image-thumb.jpg</IMG></URL> | <=[, >=]

MAKE SURE TO CONVERT TO JPG USING GRAPHIC CONVERTER or similar app... DON'T JUST RENAME THE FILE .JPG!!!!

just follow my directions, do you know how to scale down an image? convert it to jpg?

download graphic converter from version tracker, and open the screenshot with it. then go to Picture--> Size-->Scale then type 25 in the "width" box and hit OK, then save a copy as from the file menu and name it image-thumb.jpg then in the save dialog click on the format popup and go to jpg compression, click save, the thumbnail is done, now repeat w/o the size--> scale step and your screen shot should be full size but only 300 or so k instead of 1.5megs or whatever it is...

well then substitute the iDisk URL for your url... it is not rocket science...

Edit: and its not like an iDisk costs $ or soemthing... its free and really easy to set up...

I realize that, but it's not as if iDisk is equal to breathing, where I have to do it to live. I did not use it. Anywayz, I need to get some rest so I'll fix it tomorrow.

I can't understand why some of you are so god damn inconsiderate of the people on slower connections or slower computers. Is it really so ****ing difficult to create a thumbnail or post a link to your giant images instead?

    You people are pathetic.
