You don't bribe, you entertain, donate to their charities, sponsor a luncheon, etc. it is all on the up and up. You make them like you then offer your yet to be released product to be entered in the design awards competition. This organization wouldn't even be on the radar or in the press without giving top honors to the Apple Watch. I'm not saying the Apple Watch isn't a great design just that everything is carefully orchestrated.

    Yeah, it's possible. I don't disagree.

It's sad how giddy and excited you feel thinking of the mere possibility. Since you have no interest in the Apple Watch, why can't you just shut the **** up about it, and ignore it, instead of making a concerted effort to enter every single Apple Watch thread, only to spout your mocking or negative comments? I can't even imagine in what pathetic state I'd need to be, to expend so much energy posting obsessively about products I hate online, and have zero intention of buying.

And, as always, your comment has fucking nothing to do with the topic of the thread, which is the design award, and you do your best to twist a positive thing into a negative.

Considering that they also measure the brand itself, instead of simply making it about the design and engineering, this award means as much to me as when some analyst predicts some unreasonable tech soon to be launched by Apple or when an investment firm gives an unrealistic 12 month rise for Apple's stock price. It's nice they are all being positive toward Apple after such a long history of betting against them, but it's still either meaningless or ridiculous to the point I will quickly forget who these people are.

Well don't forget they also honored SAMSUNG with the GOLD for their ever practical curved television. So clearly SAMSUNG has just as good original ideas as Apple based on the merits of this award.

AND SAMSUNG got the GOLD for their BENDED SURFACE phone as well, with the screen that goes to the edges. Interesting that this was listed in the mobile device category, while the ?Watch is in telecomunications. ?

And let's not forget GOLD to SONY's XPERIA TABLET:

That looks white and gold to me, but some people say it's black and blue. :p

It's only wrong when Apple wins it.

    Aaaaaaaagh!

Kind of reddish gold and white.

And yes, that dress was white and gold. The white had a bluish tinge to it, that's all.

Regardless of how much I despise Samsung, that's a good looking TV.

'I don’t know what Apple pays Jony Ive, but this proves it’s not nearly enough.' Re/code's @Amy_Schatz in response to Sony's SmartEyeglass.

Design is easy - design that everyone clamours for must be tricky.

I saw it in both color sets. It depends on the light in the room, but I've mostly seen it in blue and black.

I see white and gold on an IPS display in any room. I figured it was due to a shitty TN panel, but another person, from the exact same setup at the same time as me, saw whit and gold and another saw black and gold.

I'd love to have a simple explanation as to why that happens, which would include recreations.

Whoa. The exactly moment of Sony's decline can be pinpointed to the release of this product.

It's not the display since I've seen it both ways on the same exact display. I was able to see the color change in this video.

    Here's an explanation.

So, what is your point. All those product failed for reasons other than design probably, some being impractical and expensive (despite being beautiful), like the curved screen. Design is just one element of the puzzle you know.

Especially since you can't see their name on it anywhere.

Like Jonny I've, I went through the brilliant Art College system in The UK and studied design.
The Watch is a masterpiece of aesthetics and functionality ( which will increase with Apps) and rightly
deserves this prestigious Award. These watches are going to sell in the hundreds of millions World Wide and become Designer Classic icons that will be a must for the design conscious - others will eventually follow for its functionality.
The key words here are 'Design Conscious'. For the 'Unconscious' and the Clueless that have crassly commented on the Apple Watch design since its first exposure by TC and Jonny I've, it is like casting Pears before Swine. They will never 'Get It' however, this will make no difference to Apple Watch's massive success and of course also, Apple Pay. We can not wait for them both to arrive in the UK. Apple always thinks strategically.
Buy Apple Shares/Stock and just hold long term, become an investor and benefit by increasing Apple quarterly dividends. This is just a Genius of a Design and Technology Company founded on correct Principles and is just now only on the starting grid in pole position - just wait !!
