Yerba Buena Center getting 'Spring Forward' makeover for Monday's Apple Watch event
As is its wont, Apple will greet attendees at its first event of 2015 with a customized graphic wrapping around the Yerba Buena Center, a process which began in earnest on Wednesday.
Multiple photos on Twitter show the beginnings of an Apple logo with a multicolored green background, matching the invitations Apple sent out via email last week. Per usual, the Apple logo will be centered on the front face of the structure, just above and to the left of the entrance canopy.
Despite the fact that its media events generally last less than two hours and have fewer than 1,000 people in attendance -- the Yerba Buena Center seats just over 700 -- Apple goes to great lengths to define and control the atmosphere. That includes custom graphics and, in some cases, the construction of temporary one-off showroom spaces.
Earlier this week, AppleInsider showed exclusive footage of just such a temporary facility being erected behind the Yerba Buena Center. Though smaller than the standalone building constructed outside the Flint Center in September, it appears structurally similar, with white walls and a ceiling of white sheeting and is likely to house another hands-on demonstration area.
The "Spring Forward" event kicks off Monday at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern. AppleInsider will be on hand at the Yerba Buena Center and will provide live coverage as the event unfolds.

It aint much of a spring where I am. There's snow on the ground and a new storm is coming soon, which is going to dump even more snow. I've been doing my best to contribute to global warming these past years, by drastically increasing my carbon footprint, but it hasn't done much good yet, because I could use some global warming right about now. Bring it on.
Having said that, I still look forward to this "Spring Forward" event on Monday, rain, sleet or snow.
I will of course be tuning in and watching it live via Apple TV.

Spring Forward / Fall Back
It's a reference to Daylight Savings therefore a time reference therefore the only device Apple is making that is designed around time is the Apple Watch.
Why did that not sink in beforehand?

Well, spring is here in California. Maybe not to scientists, astronomers, and astrologers, but plants don't about the calendar.
I drove by a grove of heritage fruit trees not too far from the Apple headquarters a couple of days ago. The trees are blossoming, very pretty.
It's supposed to get up to about 75ºF (24ºC) this weekend. Not bad. Maybe worth going to the beach.
Spring originally was associated with a culture's annual weather patterns, and this was obviously dependent on your location. What most people call the start of Spring is really just the equinox, when days will start being longer than nights, as is the case for the Spring equinox, and nights will start being longer than days, as is the case for the Autumn equinox.
A more general breakdown, which most are also familiar, gives each season 3 months, but does so in full months spans, not breaking them down to shifting days for the start and stop within those months. Winter gets December—February, yet the Winter solstice isn't until late December. Why? Best I can figure is it make no sense exclude the month for the specific event that the season references,, so instead they exclude the end days of the season. Perhaps they should have gone halfway between the seasons so that the middle of each is either the equinox or solstice.
Regardless, this is how it is in all its varying forms, which is fine considering the all the varying flora and fauna that thrive at different parts of the year in different parts of the world.
PS: Since ?Watch will likely launch in April, and if Apple follows their modus operandi, it'll launch the last weekend before the end of their fiscal quarter, that will be a little over a month after the Spring equinox.
PPS: If we isolate to only the event it would make sense to look at the event tagline which is a clear reference to DST, which occurs days before the event.
PPPS: That means the event starts an hour earlier from now than most (if not all) expect since we don't usually adjust those hours days in advance.
PPPPS: It's just a tagline for a event. That and the images mean little to nothing, and there are certainly no jaw dropping secrets to be discovered.

As you suggest, I think the simple reason for the Spring Forward tag line was to alert people to the clocks going forward so they didn't miss the keynote. Also, clocks won't have gone forwards in the UK, so it's 5 pm for us, not 6pm.
