This award looks like an award for participation. Apple's won it 125 times! But Samsung's won it 501 times!

    De gustibus non est disputandum.

Obviously, anyone saying this has bad taste - by definition.

    Aaaaaaaagh!

Kind of reddish gold and white.

And yes, that dress was white and gold. The white had a bluish tinge to it, that's all.

I saw it in both color sets. It depends on the light in the room, but I've mostly seen it in blue and black.

    400

I haven't see the blue and black, but thanks for posting the white and gold version.

I’ll let you know when the time comes.

I'm not sure this award is that meaningful. Browsing the iF webpage of other winners (gold and others), most of the designs aren't even actual products. Many are just concept sketches. There was no shortage of bending phones, bending displays, folding electronics that will never make it past Photoshop. Yet the gold design was awarded.

I wouldn't read too much into these design awards. Only sales numbers prove anything.

What about luxury cars? Small sales numbers.

Are they? Sales numbers can refer to profits, not just unit sales. At the end of the day it's about the profit, not the number of units you push or Android activation numbers would Apple's goal, too.

Off Topic: If the ?Watch is popular, do you think it would warrant an actual gold casing on the iPhone or iPad? Is the casing thick enough to have an 18-kt gold casing that is as thin and sturdy as the aluminium casing?

Shouldn't Car and Driver be giving the Apple iCar an award soon?

We almost know that it might possibly become a reality.

    And

    :-)

    Indeed.

Giving a 'design' award to the Apple Watch weeks before it’s even been released or reviewed is dodgy. It reeks of backroom deals, smacks of desperation, and ultimately devalues both the award and Apple's product.

Much better to be awarded such a thing a year or three after its release.

That looks white and gold to me, but some people say it's black and blue. :p

I found something that's both white and gold and black and blue.

We're both horrible people for making light of domestic abuse.

Although, I could argue that the girl depicted could be an MMA fighter, and to suggest that to say it's not possible means you're a misogynist. Your joke seems to have no other meaning than domestic violence against women. :D

I'm sure that women are very grateful that most of them aren't beaten these days.

I'm sure I would be thankful, were I the fairer sex. :)

I learned it by watching analysts comment on Apple. :smokey:

I had an older man tell me one time "on the first night of your marriage smack your wife in the mouth and tell her "that's for nothing, now imagine when you do something""

    How to make love...lol.

Somehow, I'm not sure that would be considered the top tip for wooing your wife in marriage preparation classes today. <img class=" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

Yeah, while Apple had a few dozens of products in the last decade, Samsung had few thousands (starting from light balls, to vacum cleaners, tvs and shaving machines)...but yeah, the basis of your comparison seems logical..
