Too good to be true.. (but damn funny)
A developer friend of mine told me this story. Sounds too good to be true, but heh, you never know...
Anyway, here goes:
A colleague of his (call him Alan, anyway, he works for Oracle) was in the VIP lounge of George Bush Intercontinental in Houston last year, en route to Seattle. Near the window of the lounge, he noticed Bill Gates sitting and reading a magazine. It happened that Alan was due to meet a really important client who was also flying to Seattle with him, but he was early, and she hadn't arrived yet. Being a forward type of guy, Alan went up to Gates and introduced himself. After exchanging a few moments of small talk, he asked if Gates could do him a huge favor.. Alan explained to Gates that he was conducting some very important business and how he would appreciate it Bill would pretend to know him, and just throw him a quick "Hey Alan, long time no see!" when he was with his client. Gates thought it over and agreed (a rare moment of generosity?). Anyway, twenty minutes or so later, Alan and his client were seated at the far side of the lounge, discussing the new project, and Alan felt a tap on his shoulder. It was, of course, Gates, who smiled engagingly and said "Hey Alan! Haven't seen you in a while! How's it going?". Alan, turned around slowly and looked up at Gates...
"F*ck off Gates, I'm in a meeting."

Except that Gates has his own jets. And multiple bodaygurads. You could never get close enough to touch him.
