Did you apply for employment at an Apple Store?

Curious to know how many people on these boards applied, or work at the Apple Store. If so, what position and which one?

If I did work for Apple (and I'm not saying that I do), I wouldn't tell you. They get a little cranky with their employees participating in these forums.

i dont think fifteen is too young to werk. i started when i was 16, and i'm pretty sure they said the cutoff was like 13. you just gotta get working papers, and fill out extra paperwork; unless apple has a policy against it.

and, on topic, i'v had a prog'g job for a few yrs that im happy with and i dont think the aStore would start me at enuf money. if they goto downtown nyc i might chg my mind tho. i'd love to see an aStore in Union Sqr.

I have applied. I have been contacted, They talked to me at MWNY last year and seemed pretty positive about me getting a job at the SOHO store and at that time they didn't think age would be a problem as I would be 17 when the store opened but apparantly Apple's employee regulations or something restrict them to age 18 and over

Yea it sucks...I used to work at Radio Shack (please don't stone me) and even though I know the damn store like the back of my hand they wouldn't let me deal with customers. Got bored cleaning stuff so I quit.

BTW I am 15 as well...though probably no surprise there.

Yes, they have part-time positions. Recently the part-timers have been asked to put in more shifts than in the past, as there has been *some* turnover in the stores (but very little compared to other retail outlets).

You might get buy with 2 shifts per week, but they are currently asking for three. That could mean 3 short evening shifts (say four hours each) or 1 eve and 1 full weekend day. It all depends on the store. 12 to 15 hours is the norm.

What would be the chances of someone like me getting a summer job @ an Apple store next year? I would love to just work on the weekends as I will most probably have an internship during the week... The roosevelt field store is close enough for me to drive to and not have to worry about being late because of traffic... good? I hope so!
