CompUSA+Apple Promo Mailer
Did you guys get a CompUSA+Aple mailer in the mail? I got one today.
It reads:
"Bring this card into your local CompUSA and receive a special gift from Apple!"
I live about 20 min from a CompUSA in the KC area. Is it worth the drive for the "special gift"? Any ideas on what it is? A shirt? A Keychain? An iPod?
:-/

It's one of those little white stickers they had left over from all the unsold G4 Cubes.
Seriously though, I don't know. Drive there and find out, if its crud, go buy a 6-pack. It'll make up for it.
I was going to take it Circuit City so they could do a price match... but Circuit city dosnt have mac stuff no more
According to the thing, they are also selling an Airport Card for $299 and a base station for $99....

That's weird. An Airport card is usually $99 and the base station is $299.
Are you sure they really bumped the price on the card up by $200? Would explain how they could knock the price on the base station down I guess but....

Too bad Circcuit City doesn't have Mac stuff anymore because it would be so cool if you got them to match the price.
They would surely call CompUSA to confirm.

There are a lot of idots who work at Circuit City, at least around here, so i was hoping... but i guess it dosnt matter seeing as they dont stock it anymore anyway.
a coffee mug! (got mine today)
Picked up a base station for $99 too!
(ok, I lied about one of the above statments...)

mmm...I think the coffee cup thing was the true statement.
Yup, a black plastic coffee mug. Are they serious? I really didn't care but I bet they had a lot of complaints. Apparently, according to the person who gave me the mug, everyone expected a Tshirt, as did I. Free advertising, something useful. Instead, a mug. I gave it back to the girl and said i didn't want it (it was the last one), and she practically begged me to take it, probably so she didn't have to give it to another Tshirt expecting customer. ..............................

What's wrong with a mug if it's free?
I'm at a loss for words...
Steve666 probably saw that it was made in China.

I assumed it would be. Its black plastic-I ain't gonna drink out of it-it could at least have been a regular mug. Actually, the flyer made it seem like it would be something decent, plus its a bit of a drive from my house, plus they didn't have an eMac on display. I didn't really react much when they gave it to me, I felt bad for them because they said alot of people were pissed about it. At least I got to see computer speakers that I plan on getting when I buy a new computer-nice looking silver and black Altec Lansings. Sweet......................
