Can anyone provide a listing of all of the companies that Apple has acquried in the past couple of years.

    No, Apple merely bought SoundJam, not all of Casady & Greene. They also bought Final Cut Pro from Macromedia for example.

    It's been said that OS X 10.2 will include windows file-sharing... Wouldn't this kill off DAVE?, or has Apple brought DAVE?

    I was under the impression they licensed SoundJam code and hired the SoundJam team before the team itself requested that SoundJam no longer be published. Hmm nevermind. That's practically the same thing.



    They also bought Raycer.



    And.. I think they bought Film Logic (?) and turned it into Cinema Tools for FCP.

    They bought the technology from that CD Burner company as well.



    Forgot their name but their tech was used in desktop CD Burning.

    Just guessing (too lazy to look it up), but I'm pretty sure DAVE has a few more features than what 10.2 will offer. Printer sharing is probably one of them.



    So.. back on topic, no, Apple has not bought DAVE. It would have been fairly straightforward for Apple to implement SMB in Mac OS X without having to buy an entire product.
