Who Has The Oldest, Most Used, Most Reliable Mac?
Hi guys,
Just another silly thread for you all to chip into.
It never fails to amaze me how my Mum can still use her Performa 630 which must be about 7 or 8 years old now on a daily basis! If that isn't a good advert for Apple reliability, I don't know what is! It is still in pristine condition (save for the broken stand bit on the extended keyboard), and as far as I know, the only repair was repalcing the internal battery.
She still uses in on daily basis doing work for her school (she is a teacher) in ClarisWorks 4.0! (Rock on!)
Anyone else got similar tales of long living Macs still in good conditon, and in daily use?

But still, I love my iMac.... but in my mind, the quadra has more heart...
But that's just me.
Wonder what sort of printer an Apple IIe can handle...hooray for dot matrix...

PowerTower Pro 225, dead stock...
Future machine:
check back about two (2) months after MWNY2002...
It will either be a new PowerMac G5 (knock on wood) or an iMac (if the new towers don't come out)...
MicrosoftOsXp why do you use such handle name?!
My Color Classic w/ Word 5.1a/7.6.1 is SOLID. A little slow but I use it every day. I love it. I'm going to stick a 6500AV in there some day, or maybe a Cube. It's the quintessential Mac.
It has a plastic holder of some sort (fits a mouse...weird contraption, and ugly too) glued to its side though. Any ideas on how to remove it without damaging my CC?
I have a SE/30 sitting in my room, still used frequently for word processing. That little beige box starts up so fast it's scary! Running System 6, a whopping 40 meg hard drive, 8 megs of RAM, oh, and a 2k modem! Bought the thing in 1989, we were on the cutting edge, I tell ya. But sometimes I think something else could've been done with that 3,000 dollars...

This computer has never crashed on me and Word is actually fun to use.
<strong>Wow. What do they do with them? Type?

in the past year they have been given iMacs but they have years upon years of things saved on 5.25 inch floppies for the Apple IIes that they just prefer to stick with them for almost everything. I guess if it ani't broke don't try to fix it. right
plus the only way to transfer the Apple IIe files to the mac is to use old LCs with Apple IIe cards and 5.25 inch floppy drives. We have a ton of em but it takes too much time
they dont build em like that anymore...

Aquatik - I've still got my Classic II and I put that plastic holder (if it's the same thing we are talking about) on the side of the box - it was intended for the microphone that came with the machine. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to remove it without either breaking the holder or scuffing the case of the computer.
