As the title says, but Quicktime Live conference starts and <a href="http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/main_news.cfm?NewsID=4195"; target="_blank">Macworld UK</a> says there will be a keynote (it doesn't say who) and a "super secret workshop".

I only mention this because i noticed that Alias|Wavefront are one of the exhibitors. Could this be the arrival of a Pro3D/Video Workstation, or just some other cool new Quicktime iApp?

I'd say it has something to do with the next version of Quicktime and MPEG4.

Well, one other little factoid is that the <a href="http://itools.mac.com/1/hpcontest.html"; target="_blank"> iPhoto Album Contest </a> winners will be announced on that date.

it's actually going to improve quality with the DivX 4.11 codec and soon to be released encoder (www.divx.com)

Wasn't DivX that failed DVD experiment where you had to have an account to view discs? What does that have to do with QT or Mac?

Two totally different things. Divx the codec is a video compression format that is all the rage these days. Also has piss poor support in quicktime, but is improving greatly over the last couple months.

I say that the 11th brings us a preview of Quicktime 6.0 or the official release date of Quicktime 6.0 with MPEG 4. <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />
