Yahoo on Thursday announced plans to bring Apple Watch extensions to four of its iOS apps by April 24, while ReSound launched a Watch app for its iPhone-compatible hearing aids.

Yahoo apps coming to Apple Watch

The Yahoo Weather Watch app will offer morning and evening forecasts via notifications, and a "feels like" Glance feature. As with other Glance-enabled apps, more detailed information can be accessed by launching into the app itself.

Yahoo News Digest will deliver one top story to U.S. Apple Watch owners every hour. Each article is accompanied by a brief summary and "visual atoms," such as maps or infographics. Users will also be able to speed-read through articles.

Yahoo News Hong Kong will deliver breaking stories to the Watch and show a list of top-10 headlines in Glance mode. Yahoo Fantasy Sports, finally, will provide information on match-ups and injuries, and use dictation features for sending messages to other league players.

ReSound Smart

People with a compatible ReSound hearing aids, such as the LiNX2, will be able to use the Watch extension of the company's Smart iOS app to adjust volume, treble, and bass, and switch audio profiles when moving into a different audio environment. The app will also provide "at-a-glance" details, according to ReSound, such as information about currently active profiles.

ReSound was one of the first companies to make iPhone-certified hearing aids. Through an iOS app, users were able not only to control sound levels but to set up geofences for profiles, or locate a device if it went missing.

And the barrage continues. By the time this is launched, it will make there software options on Andeoid wear look absolutely pathetic. This is another advantage to having higher lead time between the reveal and launch, debs can get their shit together.

Yep. This is what happens when you don't rush to the market like Samsung and release 6 plus models hoping to get one right.

So now I can glance at my watch to know it's raining, oh wait a minute I can actually look at the pavement and see it is wet! Lol now I know how arthur dent felt listening to the wretched Sirius cybernetics door - "glad to be of service!" Arghhhhhhh --- perhaps we should put "don't panic" on the watch too. Personally I don't want to be nudged every time another piece of bad news comes out . I won't be installing that app, thank you very much!

Really? Can you also look at the pavement and tell if it's going to rain later in the day? I can't tell if you're trying to be funny or if you honestly think the weather app is only going to tell you about the weather right "now". Either way it's a fail. There will be thousands of apps available for the watch shortly - do you think anybody on this forum (or any other forum) actually cares which apps you install and which ones you don't? You may not care about the news headlines but many people do. If you were going for humour in your post you kind of succeeded - but I'm laughing at you - not with you!
