??? Forum Font Poll

Now that all OS X browsers (save iCab) support Quartz AA, It'd be nice to make our forums look a bit more mac-like.

Would you be opposed to switching the font face to Lucida Grande (the OS X system font)?

For OS 9 and Windows/Linux users, Verdana (the current typeface) would be shown.

Let me know...

Personally, Lucida's a darn nice looking font.

Actually, I was amazed at how better the fonts looked after installing the IE update. Smooth, bold and a lot more readable than before. Now if Macnn could follow suit...

I'm at work on a Windoze machine so I can't state anymore further until I get home...miss that damn Mac at home...

    I'm for it.

Incidentally, Jonathan, is there any reason this isn't posted in Suggestions?

    i'm an attention whore, amorph.

Anyway, it was actually gzl's stating that 'lucida is a really pretty font' that got me thinking about this.

so chalk up a vote for neal in absentia.

    lucida+

Myriad or Lucida would be great, though Lucida is decidedly more Mac OS X-like obviously. Count me in.

...now that I think about it, how many OS X users would have Myriad installed anyway.

    LU-CI-DA!! LU-CI-DA!! LU-CI-DA!!

    WHOOO!! YEAAAHH!!!

Use Lucida Grande as the default "face" and Verdana as second for the OS9ers, Windozers, and owners of handhelds that don't have Lucida.

    edited for Fran.

Go ahead and switch. I can just enable Silk for iCab to rectify the lack of AA-ing.

How dare you cut the Newton community out of your list of non OS X computers?

Newton's can browse AI too, you know.

Font face is good. But can you change the color of the links and visited links?

    Those colors are too close!
  • Reply 19 of 36
The visited-link color is a bit greyer now.

I don't have the original color that it was, unfortunately... suggestions very welcome. This is the color from the <a href="http://www.appleinsider.com"; target="_blank">www.appleinsider.com</a> part of the logo.

hmph. i was screwing around last night with the stylesheets and messed with that setting on the wrong one (the real, not my test one)...
