Definitely the original iBook introduction, although I was expecting a successor to the Newton.

Funny, because I remember that as one of the worst moments. There was so much anticipation for it - and then it was orange. ORANGE! I remember watching the stream with my jaw dropped.
I don't know about a moment, but the best MacWorld by far was MWSF 2001 - the TiBook, finally breaking the 500Mhz barrier, DVD burning... That was a good show.
My fav, though, was SF 02. The way Apple built up the hype and followed through with the iMac was awesome.

Yeah, they built up all the hype and everything, but it wasn't worth it. The iMac didn't deserve all that hype. It's a great computer with an amazing design, but I think Apple went a little too far. A 15" LCD iMac.... beyond rumor sites... way beyond? Come on.
It wasn't a MacWorld or anything, but my favorite was the press confrence May 1, 2001 when Steve announce the Dual-USB iBooks. I had wanted a laptop for a while but my parent's wouldn't get me, or wouldn't let me spend so much money on a Powerbook and there was no way I would even consider the Clamshell iBooks, especially because of the 800x600 resolution.
My favorite Macworld is either MWNY 2000 because of the Cube and the iMacs getting colors rather than the "flavors" or MWSF 2001 getting over 500 MHz and DVD burning (the Ti's aren't one of the reasons).
Macworld San Franciso 1999 will always stand out in ym mind because it is when I officially got hooked
I still think that was the best keynote as far as announcements, planning, and pace. Even though Steve couldn't stop coughing.
Seybold 1999 also was an amazing keynote and very impressive. I was waiting for that day in so much anticipation and knew a G4 was going to be released. When one was I was all over it

Yeah, but NONE of us were expecting a 14" iBook. And we were blown away by the design, and we weren't expecting a G4. They did go overboard though.
For me, it was when they demoed Halo for the first time. Everybody's jaw was on the floor. I think that was July 1999.
Also, when they showed Aqua for the first time. That was pretty exciting. The rest of that keynote was boring as hell though. I guess that was January 2000.
1. The best moment ever, in my opinion, is when Steve announced at MWSF 2000 that he was becoming the full time CEO.
2. The G4 Cube Introduction. The intro of the Cube really just made my jaw drop and I had to get one, which I did. The Cube made me really amazed at how well a computer could really be designed. I think it established Apple as the best product design computer manufacturer hands down.
3. The new iMac introduction at MWSF 02. A computer that once I saw I had to own. One of the most amazingly well designed computers of all time.
4. MWSF 01 when Apple introduced DVD burning software and hardware along with the TiBook.
5. The MWNY 99 iBook introduction with the Noah Wyle Steve impression. Very memorable and funny. Dont forget the Schiller jump either.
How about the last MacWorld Boston, when Bill Gates' head appeared on screen!!!!! Was that '98?

That was in Boston in 1997 I believe. I have never seen the video of that sadly. I thinkit was a major turning point in not just Apple's history but in the computer indutry as well. If anyone knows where that video can be seen I would appreciate a link or something.
I wonder if there is a place to buy tapes of the keynotes or something, that would be cool.
Two in my mind stick out, mainly for pure audience "gasp factor":
- The summer 1999 iBook intro. How COOL did those things look!? I saw the video...people were stunned.
- The summer 2000 G4 Cube. It was going pretty well anyway, but when he turned it over, popped up the handle and pulled the guts out like a sci-fi nuclear reactor prop, I think I heard a few orgasmic shudders in the crowd
Now, what COULD'VE been the all-time, most mind-blowing Macworld unveiling would've been this past January's G4 LCD iMac intro...IF Time magazine hadn't published the photos and article the night before, pretty much stealing the thunder and surprise.
Can you imagine the response had no one seen those Time photos 12 hours earlier? That whole "sunflower" design was like NOTHING anyone had imagined, predicted, mocked-up, etc.

"It's really...amazing"

Yes, there's nothing quite like a hulking Phil Schiller jumping off a tower with an iBook.
Or was that jump at Seybold?

umm i think it was MWNY '01
Or the release of the TiBook, that machine just impressed the sh!t out of me.
2. Aqua unveiling(MacWorld SanFran)
3. Rainbow iMacs intro(MacWorld SanFran)
4. iBook intro(MacWorld NY)
5. Slot-loading iMacs intro

I was sad that it was a bit anti-climactic.
