If they were getting blockbuster sales they would be screaming on the roof tops
They have in a way, you just choose to not recognise that. Which is fair enough.
It could be that they don't want to announce numbers sold because they haven't actually been able to make enough to sell so they are waiting till they have physically made and sold enough to make an announcement worthwhile. I did see some actual numbers pertaining to India.
Quote:
In India, the most critical target market for Samsung in Asia, the Korean handset manufacturer's two versions are the most sought-after smartphones in the premium segment, according to launch-day sales and pre-orders, Samsung officials said.
Samsung received about 40,000 pre-orders for both devices there, about four times those for the S5, and first-day sales may be close to 50,000.
The two S6s are cheaper than rival Apple's iPhone devices, which has helped to boost the appeal of the S6 models. Apple recently increased its prices in India.
S6 and S6 edge went on sale on April 10 but many retail stores have already ran out the ‘edge’ model
UK operators are struggling to meet demand for the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge (April 10) with many now cleaned out of stock.
Mobile News visited O2, Three, EE and Vodafone retail stores based on and around London’s Oxford Street, Moorgate, Angel and the Strand last week, with all claiming to have sold out of the ‘edge’ model, or those in stock already reserved.
I must admit I am not breath-taken with GS6 design, but then I never liked glass backs, regardless of the brand... however, a lot of people seem to disagree with my opinion.
Likewise in NZ... some of our engineers wanted Edge, and they are on unspecified backorder from Vodafone NZ, ETA unknown at present. All colours, all storage options.
Don't know about the Edge-less one.
Reminds me a bit on PS4 launch back in the days. It was available locally end of November 2013, but all the shipments were preordered. Only end of February 2014 have they started appearing on shelves. Seem to be selling quite well, too.

I have seen two of the S6 Edge in the wild (one at an airport, the other at a hockey game) by end-consumers, but no S6 that I can tell. I expect it will sell significantly better than the lackluster S5, but it would be surprising if it did not sell well in Korea.
Umm hello, reports are that both phones are selling well everywhere.its not just coming from Samsung.plenty of places are sold out of many models.samsung stock prices has risen because of sales and expectations.ill give you 1 report.in the 1st week of release, they sold 80 000.this is just in stores.its not counting online.the s5 sold 20 000 in the same time.your iPhone sold 35 000 in the 2nd week of April.thats still great for the iPhone after being released 6 months ago.analysts have raised predictions for these phones from 38 million, then 46 million and lastly 55 million this year.samsung themselves are expecting over 70 million.if the s3 sold 80 000 in its lifetime, are you telling me these phones can't? They will blitz that.just google Samsung Galaxy s6 sales figures etc and you will see what I'm talking about.you people need to wake up
This is due to the recent carrier subsidy cap by the Korean government. The S6's initial sales in SK are still 4 times greater than the S5's initial sales.
As a side-note, the iPhone 6 and 6+'s sales dropped by 50% since the S6's announcement.
I don't know why so called smaller subsidies are to blame. It didn't seem to slow down iPhone sales at all. I also don't get the whole subsidies name calling. In reality it's more of a short term loan. You get a phone for cheaper up front, but you're paying that money back in the life of your contract. A subsidy is basically FREE money! You take from one group and give it to another group. Spread the Wealth!!! That's what it is. This is not what's happening unless you get a Obama phone. Then that free or cheap phone is being paid for by everyone else as a Tax on their service. Now that's a subsidies phone!!! Taking money from a group of people increasing their costs to give away a phone and cheaper service to someone else.
Getting your iPhone or Samsung phone or whatever for FREE or maybe $199 or whatever, you're still paying for it every month under that 2 year contract, which generally means in the end you paid more then what you would have paying full price up front. There's your Interest you're paying on your short term 2 year loan.
Uhh, yes it did... It did A LOT.
iPhone 6/6+ sales in SK dropped 50% since the announcement of the S6 and the implementation of the subsidy cap.
An UNNAMED Samsung executive ESTIMATES they will sell 70 million S6.
How the hell is that NOT being silent.
Again no official world wide unit sales figures means they are not selling all that well.
Keep in mind the Galaxy S5 only sold 30 million units TOTAL in 12 months. Apple sold DOUBLE that in 3 months with the iPhone6.
70M S6 in a year would be half the number of Iphone 6 sold in that period. And no official has said that yet (because SEC would be on his ass like fire if that turned out false). Their guidance doesn't seem to reflect that kind of confidence at all.
It's because the newly enacted law called Dantongbeob prohibits most of subsidies from telecom companies. Nobody with a right mind will purchase a phone at such a ridiculously high price. Even iphone sales has been decreased rapidly and the newly LG G4 is not selling at all. The highend smartphone market is literally frozen in Korea. Considering the situation, Samsung is performing well.
Uncountable phones by different top Brands are available these days and due to tougher competition they try to provide large variety of high tech features in reasonable prices. Popularity of some brands like Micromax is increasing day by day because they provide all features in less price than top brands. So several factors needs consideration to find the proper conclusion.
I must admit I am not breath-taken with GS6 design, but then I never liked glass backs, regardless of the brand... however, a lot of people seem to disagree with my opinion.
We have this bullshit preorder number from Samsung again? When will people learn? Do they not possess the brain?

without numbers that is silence.

And while Samsung are not releasing numbers T-Mobile in the US has stated that sales are at levels nearly double those of the S5.
That's I need to know.
Those 7 words prove their sales are disappointing.
Another proof of weak sales is the phones are IN STOCK right now, even the Edge model.
Where are they in stock?
They don't seem to be in stock in the UK.

They are in stock in the biggest market = USA
That would depend on whether or not you consider the EU to be a single market or not.
Where in the US precisely?
They are not silent at all.

Don't mess with Sog, Anti-Samsung person
He's a pro Samsung troll, enters every thread basically to shit on Apple and proclaim how awesome Samsung is, don't even bother with him.

There are two different matters to discuss.
1) S6 is selling better than S5? Probably yes.
2) Is it selling as good as Samsung wants us to believe? Probably not.
Shamdung is already starting the fire sales on these turds, at least at Sprint.

Whatever credibility you have is flying out the window with this.
Did you know the article you linked to is titled "iPhone 6 Sales Slightly Decrease After Galaxy S6 Release"?
That's all Sprint's doing to get subscribers.
