MS SpellCheck errors!
just to let everyone know that on various Microsoft programs, the spell check function ceases to work
upon writing up varying degrees of documents i have come to notice that Microsoft fails to spot even the simplist errors that a 3-year old child could even rectify <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />
it appears that the simplist of words, Colour for example, are unnecessarily changed - people beware!

1. there is no sense in having an unabrigded dictionary in there
2. they started with words that are less slang that "nerd", and that's why it's not in there. english is a big language, and when you are building a dictionary, you start with words like it, the, street, and glass.
3. the dictionary was built from another one, thus the absence of iPod.
Not that I know anything about writing dictionaries, these are just my suspicions.

Spell-check your post. If it stops at 'colour' and 'simplist' and is suggesting to change them to 'color' and 'simplest' then you're using an American English dictionary. You want to select a British English dictionary as our languages do differ here and there. If this is the case, then surely you knew this? Perhaps you are just 'taking the piss'.
While on this topic, I did notice that the Spell-check seems to catch more words or does a better job of suggesting words under Office XP versus Office X. Do they use different spellcheckers for each version? I agree, the spell-check in Apple Mail is awful.
