What's your take on Apple's new promotion?

Here's the <a href="http://www.apple.com/promo/coupon/"; target="_blank">link

to Apple's latest promotion, called "Check the savings."

To me, this seems like the most confusing and perhaps the most BUNK of any of their promotions as of the past year (since I've been watching.) "The more you buy, the more you save!" Wow, so if I buy everything they mention, maybe I'll finally have enough money to buy that Powerbook I've been wanting for so long!

The links to _how much_ you save are well-hidden, and it just doesn't seem as tempting as **$100 off when you purchase a new Powerbook with a such-and-such display*** or some other blatant dollar amount in red text on a white background.

Agreed. You definitely have to "check" what the savings really are. Most of the savings are pretty blah, nothing special. If they want to draw switchers, they should make the discount on VPC more as well.

Stuff like this works though. I don't see why, but it does. Go spend a weekend at your local mall. Somehow, many, many people there will be completely convinced that they saved money by buying a dozen pairs of pants because they were all 25% off.
