But Biden's victory is hardly a foregone conclusion...I mean, he hasn't even declared his candidacy yet!
(kidding, of course)
For a brief while, I actually had a modicum of respect for Joe Biden. He was a relentless, dogged critic of Bush who then gave up all pretense of moral outrage once he became Vice President. He really blew it.
Oh, we need an emoji for rolling on the floor laughing. We really do.
If gerrymandering (you know who uses that more...) didn't exist, elections would be the ultimate term limit. A fair one at that.
With the current system, what would be the point of replacing one party hack by the next one... None.
Considering this was done after the 4th Roosevelt term (and dying in office), and no other president was elected more than 2 terms before that. I'd say, Term limits are barely useful for presidents. Clinton arguably would have won if he had been able to run (and possibly Obama if the GOP idiots don't get their ass in gear), and that's it, I don't see any other good candidate for a shooing reelection on the third term.
The reference is to California's money and election-driven politics post term limits. Politicians come in and then they instantly start to fundraise and work towards their next election, especially in the Assembly where the term is 2 years. The way that there's a per-position limit and a overall limit means you have to rotate between Assembly, Senate and State Office. Gray Davis, for example, was Governor, Lt Governor, Controller, Assembly twice, and Governor Chief of Staff. Read about it sometime.

Politics at the state level don't concern me as much. AFAIC, they're all a product of behind the scenes dealmaking and horse trading and one form of corruption or another, but term limits at the Federal level would squash the revolving door that has evolved and is common in every administration.
Rightwingers must be so grateful for the 22nd Amendment. If it wasn't for that, President Obama would be on his way to a third term.
Right! Otherwise, in a few more years, democratic Russia would be making, "In Communist America..." jokes. But you know what? It wouldn't be all that funny.
His Alzheimer's had already set Reagan's expiration date.
The difference between 1988 and currently is that in 1988, there was a president in power that actually cared about the country and the people who lived within its borders.
Agree. There must be a White House staffer employed just to send these tweets as Barack Obama. The closest Obama came to the posting of this tweet was to give the go ahead to hire that staffer.

No more grateful than the left was in 1988.

The Congress and Senate in Washington.
You need to do some research. It's the House and Senate: both of which make up "Congress".

do have "term limits, they're called elections.

Yes, of course. I "mis-wrote".

George H. W. Bush was effectively Reagan's third term.

At least not since the 17th Amendment. Not that certain states don't still practice the concept of "senator for life"...
Looks like an iPhone 6 with a case sporting the presidential seal. He has a MBP with a presidential seal as well.
Great President. Great Smartphone.
I don't know about term limits but definitely age limits are needed.

And just as I suspected, it's not Obama's phone.

The sooner this clown is out of the White House the better.
The Blackberry Z30 is, I believe, one of the more current models. Please let me know how many input keys it has got!
