That's a rather broad and unfair attack. One could easily bet lots of non-Americans are eating at McDonald's.

We in the UK are so used to being ripped off for the cost of Apple products that we don't notice any more. The prices are between 30% and 50% higher than in the US. Last year it cost me less to fly to New York and buy 2x iPads and a macbook pro than it would have done to have bought them in the UK.

The fact of the matter is, we have to pay what they charge because the alternative options are crap.

The options are Windows PCs, Android phones or jail time for theft of Apple products. I don't fancy any of those options.

Apple deserve all the money they make.

They're all over, so you're absolutely correct. I normally avoid fast food but every few months I enjoy that guilty pleasure, and the new third pounder burgers at McDonald's are surprisingly good.

I remember reading an article about how lucrative it is for people to fly to the US from the UK and loading up on clothes, sneakers (trainers), and Timberland boots, then taking them home, and selling them there.

Totally fair attack. If someone is going to spend all that money and time to fly from the USA and then eats at McDonald's then they truly are beyond saving. The natives also don't have an excuse but Tey ate not potentially spending thousands to do it.

Not so long ago the Canadian dollar was at par, Apple didn't make any adjustment then, we paid the same price as the US.

But, they are quick to adjust when it's in their favour (it's not only Apple, most US companies do the same)...

Europeans should feel honored by my presence there, since I will be a tourist afterall, and I will be helping their poor economy out, and spending my valuable dollars there.

Europeans should be lining up on the streets for me, holding a parade in my honor, throwing flowers in my general direction, and thanking me for being there.

As for the food, I don't eat fast food that often, and I used the price of a Big Mac as an example.

I'm surprised that they raised prices again in Canada, as the Canadian dollar has come back against the US dollar since they last raised prices. Seeing the US price cut on some products hurt, too.

Anyhow, I'll stick with my early 2011 MBP with a high resolution screen (on its 3rd motherboard). I'll probably add a 500 GB SSD to go along with the 1 TB drive and wait for the dollar to come back or for Apple to realize that passing every cent of a change in currency rates along to their customers has diminishing returns.
