Can't beat 'em? Join 'em! -or- the Path to becoming a True Insider
So, I applied for five jobs at Apple today via internet.
Not that anyone cares, but I've decided to become an "Insider" the old-fashioned way: from the inside.
Soon, I'll get to the bottom of it all! <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

You forgot a "muahahahahaha!!" while twisting your greasy mustache.
<strong>Well, good luck. I've done the same thing myself. Repeatedly. No dice.</strong><hr></blockquote>
I hope you didn't mention which site you are webmaster of... <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

Sure he didn't : his name is CommonSense
Steve Jobs' mysterious Korean butler with a razor-sharp bowler hat?
The secret-products photographer?
Phil Schiller's designated driver? (he drinks a LOT of milkshakes....too many really)
A member of the elite Apple web-rumors search-and-destroy team based out of Dusseldorf, Bermany? Yes, Bermany, a country so secret that no one has ever even heard of it!
One of the often-rumored, never-seen plastics pouring experts based in Korea, Taipai, Melbourne and Akron?
Or perhaps something closer to the keynotes, like Steve's personal water-bottle boy....sorry, water-bottle person. Responsibilities include chilling the water to 58º Farenheit, storing it on the flanks of fashion models up until just before the keynote begins then positioning the bottles in several places pre-ordained by Steve Wozniak in one of his dream-trance states.
So, whatever you picked, I can't wait to start hearing the insider rumors from you.
Now all we need to do is go ahead and pick your secret user name that you'll use when you return with the data. That way we'll know it's really you.
How about one of these...
Secret Pal 4 U
NDA B Damned
Shanky McSpunkster's All Star Rumor Show
Ralph (every board should have a "Ralph)
Him Hav Sol (a tribute to one of our favorite insiders)
The Real Deal (REALLY!)
or something more arcane and secret-agentish, like:
A
or
Jobs, Steve Jobs
or
Deep Mac
Yes.
I think that I like "Deep Mac" best.
Now let's see how long it is before "Deep Mac" shows up here....I can't wait......

That was the funnyest post I've ever read. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />
Honestly, I am so paranoid of Apple's legal goons (motto: "thugs in sharp suits") that I'm not going to say what I applied for, lest someone crosscheck it against recent online resume submissions.
I know the chances are remote for that to be true, but why bother tempting fate?
Rest assured, though, the jobs are of incredibly low importance, and I'd have as much access to the secret info as Phil has to SlimFast, or Steve has to Steakumms......at first. But over time, I will rise in power, gaining more and more knowledge, and then one day [message edited by Apple Legal Goons].
BZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTT!
.....Wha? What happened? I.....I love Steve! Steve is God! Apple is Heaven! All is well.......ahhhhhhhh........

ps - If I make it through to the other side, you will know me by my codename only..... Mac Throat.

Hah. Nahhhhh.
I did actually get an interview ONCE -- for a Mac Genius gig at Short Hills. Made it past the screening and first interview, and on to the final interview. Didn't get past that; their reasoning was (a) I seemed overqualified and they felt I'd get bored after a while, and (b) I didn't have the formality of getting some kind of certification (which is dumb, because the six weeks of Mac Genius training ends up certifying you *anyway*).
Funny, the thought that they "cross-check" on rumor site forums crossed my mind, too . . . I posted on here about the process during the time.
Of course, so did someone else competing for the same job, and he DID get hired, so that kind of blows that theory apart . . .
Hrmph.
Anyway, come to my site and buy a T-shirt or something, because I'm STILL unemployed.
I'm sure that it's all still being evaluated.....I'll hear from them soon enough, I'm sure.
