I cannot agree about the stability of XP. I have a fully paid up version of XP Pro running on a plain vanilla X86 box and boy is it unstable. Explorer crashes three times a day. And this is meant to be M$ best release ! Finder, even in Jaguar is way more stable. The only thing it cares about is downloading the latest security patch ( on a patch ( on a patch .. .)))) And I paid good money for this !!!

Yeah come to think of it my Mother's XP puter does crash on IE alot. I always get that error box asking if I want to send the crash data to MS. Even without the crashing XP just is lifeless with no Soul to me.

yeah. Though I do think m$ did a good job of putting just enough of a different look on XP to sway some (gullible) users away from a Mac. And they seem to be trying to push it more in a consumer direction too.

My mother has a PC and she has nothing but trouble. I'm going to read her the riot act and tell her to get an iBook !

Gee, I wonder why this thread appeared.

You've got something very wrong and unique going on with your system and most likely had a bad install (just like the OS X 10.1.5 update f.ucked up my cousin's iMac). Or maybe you are of a very small group who have stability issues with XP.

I've had XP installed since it's release and it hasn't crashed once - not once. I, to this day am amazed at its stability and plug and play capabilities. Things previous versions of Windows were always lacking. And don't bill as XP Pro as 'even that version is unstable'. Both Pro and Home have the same exact stability.

Dissing Windows, PC Users and MS will not make your Mac any faster (or any better for that matter). Yes, I am a Mac user and fan as well. Difference is, I am not a jaded, biased zealot!

    Peace.

Moving to General Discussion, since this really doesn't have anything to do with MWNY.
