I am so thrilled with the marriage being legal in all states. Screw the haters.
Many corporations (MS, Apple, Amazon, etc) are cheering for the legalization because they submitted their pro-gay marriage briefs to SCOTUS.
How is it that if one doesn't agree with SCOTUS's decision on gay marriage, somehow one is a "hater"? I could careless what someone does in their bedroom, but if I don't endorse or celebrate a particular lifestyle that is defined by who one has sex with, I am someone filled with "hate". This has been, and will continue to be, a favorite tactic of the left. (eg. "I don't much care for Pres. Obama" = RACIST!).
I can't wait until this slippery slope gets out of hand...as hinted to with the "trans gendered" and "trans racial" stories of late.
I don't care that Tim Cook is gay. I do care that that a company who's products I have used for a long time and very much enjoy, seems to be in opposition to many things in which I believe. I find this constant drumbeat on LGBT....XYZ issues to be exhausting. Make good products and try not to alienate customers with controversial political views/statements. Shit, Apple is turning into the Ben and Jerry of electronics.
Although I am a Christian I will refrain from using the bible as basis of my argument. I do not have personal issue with the Gay and Lesbian community, but I do have a problem with this decision. While passages in the bible clearly are against GL's, the more important law I see being violated is the Law of Nature. Nature does not intend men to have intimate relations with other men nor women the same. Where in the existence of man has this been the norm and given the same equal platform as opposite sex couples until now. The rest of nature goes on the same, opposite sex animals are the norm in almost every species. With that said, I do not intend to attack the GL community, but I am not sure they are deserving of equal rights of marriage as defined by the laws of nature.
It seems to me that making gay marriages legal is moving from the "involvement" stage to the "non involvement stage". What the government is now saying is if you want to get married, it's legal and if you don't want to get married, that's fine too.Your choice, not the governments. I would have thought that as a Libertarian, you would have agreed with this, no?
Wouldn't the strictest libertarian reject the whole concept of marriage?
You are wrong here. This decision does not end anything.
The gay community will now insist that the be allowed to be married in a church and they will shout bigotry and file a case to the Supreme Court that they be allowed too.
It will never end.
They can go to a courthouse and get married. Some will do that but others will continue their quest until they get EVERYTHING they think they should get.
Let me get this straight (no pun intended):
You want to curtail the liberties of gays while they still have fewer liberties than straight people out of fear that someday they'll gain more liberties? Is that something you are really afraid of? I think you want them to have fewer liberties than you do. Am I correct?
How is it that if one doesn't agree with SCOTUS's decision on gay marriage, somehow one is a "hater"? I could careless what someone does in their bedroom, but if I don't endorse or celebrate a particular lifestyle that is defined by who one has sex with, I am someone filled with "hate". Wow, so you want the company to change it's core values because you don't like them? How about you go buy your shit elsewhere.
Just out of curiosity, as I have no idea, can one of these religious puppets refuse a heterosexual couple just on a whim? If not could they sue him/her? Personally I always went for marriage at a civil service as it is a legal matter anyway and nothing to do with religions or myths IMHO.
Today, the only thing a religious "leader" needs to do to refuse a marriage is to say no. They don't even need to give a reason. Nor will they need to at any time in the future. Anyone claiming that clergy of any faith will be required to perform marriages they disagree with is simply an ignorant moron who failed to follow the law, read the first amendment, or educate themselves on the issue. Full stop.
Cook can't take his money with him when dies and is cast into the lake of fire. He should worry about his eternal home.
Christians need to boycott Apple.
Majority of Christians support marriage equality. It would only be the ignorant fundamentalist bigots, and they can go boycott freedom and hang out with ISIS. You can go first, and don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

Jobs quote was about the people in history that have gone against great odds and the mainstream way of thinking of something whether it be in the fields of science, the arts of social norms.
As for Cook's statement about seeing his sexual orientation as a "gift from god" he has every right to define himself this way. If you are old enough to remember the late 1960's and 1970's you could make the comparison to words "black is beautiful" which African American children ask to remember. We all need to be proud of ourselves and how we are born, we must never let others shame or belittle us as humans.
You personal views of "god" are yours and although I do not subscribe to your belief I defend your right to hold that belief, especially when it does not step on the rights of others.
Sexual 'craziness', as you call it, has likely been the norm, at various times less publicly visible than others, since the beginning of sex.
Civilizations rise and collapse.
The two have never been correlated, as far as I am aware.
Every single species that is known to practice sexual reproduction has also been observed practicing same sex behavior. Only one one species is judgmental about it. But people are just sure it is natural behavior that that ends a civilization. Pathetic.
Just so you know which other companies to boycott, here are the 379 companies that urged the supreme court to support same-sex marriage.
Here is the full list of companies that have signed the amicus brief:
A.L. Nella & Company, LLP, CPAs
A.T. Kearn......
Not to mention the majority of Americans, over 60% now, with a much larger portion of youth than older generations, but growing in all age groups. The bigots have not only lost, they are shrinking and increasingly irrelevant.
In just a few years the people complaining about this decision are going to be just like the senior citizens that are still openly racist. Normal people will roll their eyes and walk away saying things like "he doesn't know any better, he grew up in a time when that kind of bigotry was normal."
Comments
shame on you for thinking equal rights is political!
here's to the crazy ones -- changing your world.
thank god two committed people married with love is normal, regardless of your old book.

How dare Microsoft is promoting abnormal lifestyle! And you're thinking of switching to Windows because of Apple's pro-gay stand?
http://microsoftjobsblog.com/microsoft-pride-this-is-who-i-am/?WT.tsrc=MSsharing
Switching to Android? Oh wait, isn't it developed by Google that also supports gay marriage and cheered for it?

Guess you don't have any other choices.

Hahahahahaha! No it is the small minded rightwing bigots that go totalitarian. As anyone from Texas should know.
On a related note, I love this topic, because it is filling my block list with simple minded bigots, "libertarians" and RWNJs....
And jobs' quote wasn't about who you sleep with.
