That's weird I was lucky enough to take part in a massively long very intellectually stimulating from all sides thread last year, that was all about religion, Christianity included and nothing was deleted.

Maybe it's sporadic. One time people commented Christianity couldn't be real because if I believe God created everything, then who created God? I answered multiple things like that, and they were gone the next day. It's also happened another time or two. And I remember trying to be really nice (because I was representing my faith :) ) but they still got deleted.

Mmm... no. Some religious leaders certainly do make out like bandits though.

I was kidding (in part), I am sure there are a few good folks out there of the cloth so to speak. In fact as disinterested in organized religion as I am, I kind of like much of what the current boss over at the Vatican has to say. Certainly a first for me.

Because of the likelihood that gay married couples would be discriminated against or suffer economically if they were to travel to another state that didn't recognize their marriage, I'm generally in favor of this particular ruling, HOWEVER that is only because there has been an unequal advantage to "straight" married couples up until this point. I still disagree in principle to any and all involvement by government in private agreements, whether one calls them "marriage" or not. The only reason for involvement would be to settle legal disputes.

As CEO you should stick to Tech. If you want to politicize go run for something.

Perhaps you got too far off topic. AI mods are very good, especially compared to other Apple blogs I could mention.

Excellent comment. Not all political but certainly people that exemplified thinking differently. (My spell checker actually tried to change differently to different then LOL). I think the frog was top of my list. ;)

But state contract law, being "law" comes under the 14th Amendment, which is federal and which was applied by the Supreme Court majority to this ruling.

Al Gore got rich on that one.

If you think that pumping gases into the atmosphere for two centuries hasn't had an effect on the climate, you're an utter fool.

I wonder what the climate-change deniers think all that CO2 is doing. I guess they figure it's not doing anything to warm the atmosphere, despite the most basic of scientific observations that suggests it is. How do these folks make their dinner each night, not recognizing the principals behind the functioning of their convection or microwave ovens? How do they see their way at night, not recognizing the flow of current in an electrical conductor to energize a lamp? How indeed do they stay alive not recognizing the cycle of respiration their body uses to keep itself alive? If they trust all these scientific observations, at what point do they allow themselves the special knowledge required to understand our planet's biosphere better than those same scientists who bring us much of the scientific knowledge we accept in our everyday lives?

Again making my earlier point. I am trying to find a post of yours wherein you don't resort to name calling...hard to do...well done!

Don't agree with me? You are a "fool", filled with "hate", etc...<yawn>

So you would have been OK with your state banning marriage between a man and a woman?

Ridiculous to try to turn Jobs advertising campaign into a 'political' advertisement.

If it would fit your narrative you'll be telling me that "State-of-the-art processors. All-new graphics. Breakthrough high-speed I/O. Three very big leaps forward." was "political" as well.

Those individuals for the most part were artists, business people, and explorers with little professional interest in politics.
