Here are the current headline from Think Secret, all pre-macworld.



*Apple to Charge $100 for .Mac services



*Adios G3 iMacs, G4 towers in August



*Apple to introduce 20gig iPod, updated iTunes



*MWNY to bring 17" iMacs, but no G4 towers



I'd say Nick's batting average is getting pretty good.

    Yea, you can only get a CD-ROM drive with it now.



    No one with a lick of sense would buy one...

    And he blew the Bye Bye G3 iMacs. And to be fair, the .Mac scoop wasn't really his (I saw it on other rumor sites, including the $100 price, weeks before).

    But he did get the 17 imac (although it wasn't widescreen) and iPod, so that's fairly good for a rumor site.

    TS didn't say there would definitely be no QT6, so you can hardly say they "blew" it, to be fair. Except for the no more G3s (which isn't a big deal), everything they said would happen for sure, did happen. First place I saw .Mac was <a href="http://www.thinksecret.com/news/itoolsdotmac.html"; target="_blank">here</a>.

    Oh, it's PROPS to Think Secret.....okay, I thought I was being paged....sorry.



    Yeah, like I said in some other thread a while back, Think Secret is the market leader in presenting accurate rumors....kind of like AI was back in the glory days!

    Agreed. Accurate (mostly) and timely dirt. Rarely engages in flights of fancy, though rumors are prone to typical telephone-style distortion.



    The G3 iMacs weren't killed, just retooled to take on a much reduced role in their desktop line.



    Jobs and Sculley didn't go "head to head" with significant announcements. Jobs had a fairly minor announcement, while Sculley's "announcement" fizzled, barely being noticed. Etc.



    Still, probably my favorite rumor site.

    I Wonder if dePlume will nail the August 13th G4 upgrade date?



    I personally think they will release the new G4 hardware on the same day they release Jag (24th? -can't remember).



    I'm sure the 13th is just as much of a guess as "no new g4's in NY" was... no real source, just basing it on the current promo end date...
