Moderators have access to the same information that any user has access to through the users profile. We can also see users login name (if different from the display name) and IP address.
If we suspect someone is posting using two accounts we could check the IPs of both users, yes.
I hear Jonathan can actually SEE you when you are posting. See those 4 pics at the top of the "post a reply" page? One of them is actually a web cam!! Another one is a mic, but its not working. They can't get the CGI script to execute properly. The other 2 aren't real. They're there just to fake you out.

That's where you're wrong. One smells you and the other can feel you. The latter is only used in extreme cases and/or when you fall asleep at your Mac.
