100% Shafted TiBook -- What Would YOU Do?

Right,

I've got a Ti that someone dropped at work, rendering it beyond economical repair.

Am I pissed that the drive sounds like a cement mixer, the screen is tartan, it'll never boot again and the case is knackered?

No, I'm not.

Because YOU'RE GOING TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO WITH IT! (resist the temptation Mika).

What would you do with it? I have a digital camera if people just want to see it being systematically shagged with a hammer. I could save the parts. I could do experiments with it. I could ... I could just throw it in the bin but that would be boring.

Suggestions?

Take some badly lit pics of it and sell it on eBay as "Sold as seen".

HAHA that is a good legit way to do it and I am sure you could get some money to people buy broken powerbooks often on ebay for more money than they are worth.

Don't laugh, I just did that.

Frickin' $29 PowerBook 170 that won't boot. Bastard.

Anyway, surely there must be something in that Ti you can salvage and sell on eBay. Keyboard, trackpad, hinges, internal stuff... resist the urge to destroy.

A friend of mine once had a web server that was spread out in pieces on a living room wall. presumably, the HD is busted, but after replacing just that, perhaps it could be put to use as such, assuming the motherboard is intact.

OK, time to give something back to AI after all the fun I've had from it.

If you guys send me post-paid envelopes (hmmm I'm in Yoorp) I'll dismantle the sucker and send people the bits they want.

The motherboard is shagged, the drives are fücked, bits of the case are cracked, the RAM has been cannibalised but you never know, some of it's OK. Oh, the keyboard is knackered. And the screen. I think the trackpad is OK.

    Hello.

Because my power supply is shagged, making weird sparks in the translucent bit, and only works when I twist one end of the cable around the plug, and a new one costs £60, and I live in London, can I please have the power supply? PM me.
