Apple service ROCKS!

I know that a lot of us have had less than stellar experiences with Apple support, but I just had the most incredible one imaginable (well, aside from them just giving me a new computer ).



My TiBook's trackpad went crazy on Tuesday. Just doing its own thing, clicking here, moving there, etc. I tried all the usual support-ish things myself before I decided to take it to the Apple Store. So I backed everything up, finished up my day at work, got to the Apple Store Tuesday at 8pm. The genius had already gone home, so I left my computer overnight to be looked at and possibly (I knew for sure) be sent off to be repaired. Fast forward to today, and my computer is already here. It got sent of Wed, got here Friday morning!



Not only that, but they also fixed a developing paint issue that I was told was just considered cosmetic and not covered (and I'd already accepted as a fact of life). And it seems they did something to my keyboard because it feels much better. I mean the only indication that this computer isn't new is the fact that my hard drive is exactly as I left it (pirated build of Jag and all ). I'm VERY impressed and happy to pass some good news along to all of you.

    They probably figured, "What the hell? Might as well fix it up nice. We'll get it back when the FBI seizes it on Monday."

    Must be because their repair facilities and offices are in such close proximity to my apartment. I guess I rub off on them or something

    I have to admit that the three majors repairs I've needed since '93 on my Macs have been very pleasant experiences. They've bent the rules for me two of the three times too.



    Sorry, Fran, I know the hell you went through. At least feel good that they do get it right sometimes.

    Well,the idea with Apple Service is that if you have the same problem after three tries, they give you a referbished one. <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />
