The Pismo is far superior for all the reasons stated in this thread. If only Apple would offer a new one with a G4 and a modern graphics card I'd buy one in a femtosecond.
As it stands now I'm going to lose a lot of functionality when I replace mine in 6-12 months. I will in many ways be downgrading to a G4. <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

I use that enter key all the time! I have it set to send instant messages (where return is a new line).
i've used both models quite a bit, and although i'd have to give my nod to the PBG3, i think the wallstreet was the best revision of the bunch. for those who say the PBG4 feels flimsy, i feel the same way when comparing the Pismo and Wallstreets. the wallstreets had a metal shell, not plastic.
i actually tossed one up in the air and dropped it on the corner from over 6' up (long story) and it was FINE!
(well, i had to glue the IR port cover back on, but that's it)
that being said, the only real design feature i liked better on the G3's were the hot swappable drive bays. although considering that the PB's now have a DVD/CDRW drive and firewire port, not really that big of a deal, IMO.
and i actually like the slot loading drive better. guess i don't hang out with the right people, i've never had someone try to give me a business card CD, so it's not really an issue, and i LOVE slot loading drives. they're just cleaner.
i like the speakers on the PBG4 better, and the DVI out. that's damn nice. oh yeah, plus the screen is nicer (IMO) and i like the sleep indicator.
dunno. both have advantages. although the PBG4 design in limiting, i think it also has more hardware included so that the expansion isn't quite as necessary.
'course i'd love to see an internal zip drive option on my PBG4, but that just ain't gonna happen.
My brother did bring up a good point: The TiBook does have an advantage from an industrial design perspective because it dissipates heat better. Sure, it gets hot, but what would happen if you put the TiBook's guts in a Pismo's body? It would melt, that's what. So that is one thing going for the TiBook. I also agree with the comment that the TiBook has better speakers. This is definitely true, but it would be nice if they could be pumped up a little more. They're very clear all the way up to max volume, but it would be nice to increase the volume when I'm watching a DVD with multiple people.
Everyone praising the G3 PowerBook has sort of strengthened my bond with my current PowerBook (Wallstreet). It's heavy, but the screen is wonderful, and it seems very sturdy and durable. *Pats palm rest affectionately*

Somehow, I doubt it. Since the same G4s that were incorporated into the first TiBooks are running just fine in PowerBook G3s right now, I don't see how it would 'melt' the case.
As for the speakers, I've never had a problem with my Pismo's but haven't spent enough time with the TiBook to comment on it's speakers beyond the fact that it wasn't 'remarkably' better, if at all.
Also... My Pismo has firewire....I could add a CDRW bay to it. I'm not sure of a way to use the super fancy new Apple displays (dvi? adapter work with a G3?)
But otherwise, I do not feel limited in features as much on a Pismo as a titanium.

I have a Pismo. And it has enough horsepower to suffice as my "desktop" machine, driving a 21" display.
But on the road it's a pain to lug. Because you're not lugging just the machine, but the case as well any accesories.
No one has brought it up, but I adore the latest iBook form factor. Add a $29 <a href="http://www.devdepot.com/description.html?pcode=HIBKTOTE"; target="_blank">handle</a> and you don't really need a case.
Alas the iBook can't drive the 21" monitor at a decent resolution. At least not in OSX.
But for the powerbook I'd want to have on a tray table on a long flight, the 12.1" iBook gets my vote.
