Finally ordered a Tibook
So I finally jumped into the boat and ordered a 800 Mhz Tibook. I am looking for suggestions on accessories that I might need. I am going to be taking the computer back and forth to the library as well as doing lots of photoshop work (probably late at night), so if anyone has any suggestions on accessories that they find useful I am all ears. Thanks in advance

besides...no one knows when new PB's will be released. Waiting for something when you don't know when it arrives is just plain stupid. Better to use it now then to have nothing at all.

even an a6 will do it.
just be sure it has mac drivers!!
and the screen..
and the case as said

Things I added to my 800Mhz TiBook:
-Pro Keyboard
-my Spare Hockey Puck mouse (Till apple release a new mouse i.e 2 button)
Oh and when I get Jaguar I am going to plug in:
-Wacom Intuos graphics table (Great with photoshop)
-Palm Vx!
Get yourself a nice bag to go with your NICE powerbook!
Enjoy your new computer! I still love my 800Mhz Tibook it ROCKS!!!
In and out of the library?.....well you migh need to buy a lot of earplugs for those around you.

My Tibook's harddrive produces the most insane+annoying+evil metalic sound that can only fixed by listening to music while working - I doubt that this trick will work at a library.
Well, the first 4-6 months the drive will be sortof quiet, then, slowly, the sound will get more and more intense.......eek!
Since my Ti is still covered byt the APC plan I hope I can have it replaced, otherwise:
Well, ehm..other than this minor detail, congrats. on your buy - despite the flaws you will love it - just like you love your children no matter how ugly they are or how ill they behave.

Yes, sleeping babies are the most adorable ones.
But it's like I said: after 4-5 months, when the Tibook puberty happens, then you'll notice the difference.
So, enjoy the quiet moments while you can and pray to God that your newborn baby is not infected with any latent HD ear-splitting deceases....
get a back pack for it. You should get some other stuff such as a floppy drive or maybe a 256 meg key chane for strorage. E mail me and i got some web sites that can help you.

2. who turned this into 'geek buying spoogefest'?
christ, just get an external mouse. the keyboard's fine. trackpad gets a bit old.
you don't need an external firewire hard drive or a wacom tablet or any of that stuff.
If I bought a TiBook (or an iBook), I'd get exactly this:
- Pro keyboard
- Pro mouse
Just to make it more comfortable and "desk-y" when I'm using it at a desk
- DEFINITELY would get the AirPort set-up so I'm not chained to the desk 24/7 when all I want to do is surf or e-mail.
Those would be the three essentials, right off the bat.
Oh, and to go along with the mouse/keyboard thing (to make it a little more "desktop-like", I'd get one of those things that lifts/props the TiBook up (allow for cooling AND a higher, better viewing angle. I'd use the mouse and keyboard plugged into it when at a desk.
Otherwise (on the porch, in bed, on the couch, etc.) I'd just use the trackpad (not going to be drawing or retouching in that position...just writing e-mails or surfing).
And a protective bag/case of some sort.
There are few things in life cooler than opening the box of a brand-freaking-new computer (for yourself, of course).
But then again, I'm a total geek.
<strong>1. laptop bags are for geeks. throw it into any bag, it's fine.

<strong>Congrats on the new machine.

Preach on, brother! You're totally right. When I bought my iMac in March, I brought it home and purposely took my time and savored the whole experience (opening the box, going through all the accessories/disks, lifting the styrofoam out, putting the iMac on the desk and looking at it from every conceivable angle (with this goofy, permanently platered-on grin), etc.
It's the BEST! It's gold, Jerry...gold!
