I know, I listened to iTunes radio last night for the first time. I don't know why, just never bothered to check it out before.

Of course it may have something to do with the fact that I had just accidentally deleted 13 gigs of MP3s and had nothing else to listen to...

    *sigh*

(they are backed up on my PC HD at work thank god...)

The metal station was rockin' last night!

Internet radio is awesome. There is a broad variety of music you can't get on FM radio. I've been listening to <a href="http://www.digitallyimported.com"; target="_blank">Digitally Imported</a> for almost a year now. (Yesterday they broadcasted a live rave from Germany!) However, The Recording Industry Association of Americais trying to shut down most internet radio stations. The <a href="http://www.kurthanson.com"; target="_blank">RAIN: Radio and Inernet Newsletter</a>, has all kinds of information on what is going on. September may be the last month for internet radio stations. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

Yeah, I saw the writing on the wall, when I tuned into a smallish Southern Ontario radio station to listen to the Blue Jays game (broadcast on the radio, and for years over the internet) from Europe a while back. When I tuned in I heard instead a semi-frustrated sounding soundbite explaining how Major League Baseball had retained the rights to internet broadcasts, and required that the radio station stop internet transmissions during games. You can buy the right to hear the games over the internet directly from MLB.

Damn they're stupid. It can't be a huge revenue stream, and the last thing MLB needs right now is another bruising in the court of public opinion.

Internet radio does rock. I wish I could do something to keep it pristine, but then, I've always been a dreamer.

    sigh...
