The committee has often been justly criticized for being homogenous -- "too old, too male, too white, too rich," says a former member. There are six women and seven people of color among the 41 members. In the last decade, "we’ve made a conscious effort to diversify it," says Wenner. In 2006, several stalwarts were dethroned: "I was fired for being too old. That’s what I was told," says one. (Wenner counters that anyone who was kicked off "wasn’t being useful.")
The committee’s track record in recognizing such rock ’n’ roll offshoots as hip-hop, metal and alternative rock has been spotty.

So I asked what prestigious organizations or luxury home developments had denied you entrance due to your race and this is the first thing you come up with? The BBC? Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you live somewhere in the U.S.? Were you planning to emigrate or just have a really long commute?
You went back to a quote from 2001 from someone who left the BBC more than a decade ago. Interestingly, while searching for the source of the comment, I found that it caused quite a stir on neo-Nazi sites like stormfront.org ('White Pride World Wide'):
Why don't we read what Greg Dyke actually told the reporter back in 2001 when he made that quote?
Quote from the Daily Mail:
The BBC is 'hideously white' according to Greg Dyke, the corporation's director-general.
Mr Dyke did not say the corporation was racist but acknowledged that, in common with the Metropolitan Police, it had a problem with race relations.
He admitted the management structure at the BBC was more than 98 per cent white.
And he said the organisation was unable to retain staff from ethnic minorities and questioned if they were made to feel welcome.
Mr Dyke said: 'I think the BBC is hideously white. I think the BBC is a predominantly white organisation. The figures we have at the moment suggest that quite a lot of people from different ethnic backgrounds that we do attract to the BBC leave. Maybe they don't feel at home, maybe they don't feel welcome.'
A failure of the corporation's equal opportunities policies was most noticeable at the highest levels, he said.
'Our biggest problem is at management level. I had a management Christmas lunch and as I looked around I thought, 'we've got a real problem here'. There were 80-odd people there and only one person who wasn't white,' he said.
Mr Dyke insisted the BBC was committed to eradicating racism but voiced concerns that similar determination was missing among some elements of the police.
He said: 'I was at a dinner when I sat next to the person who advises the Metropolitan Police on race relations and I said, 'we've both got a problem in this area'.'
He said the BBC was an organisation that 'understood' the problem and wanted to do something about it. 'I'm not at all sure that the Metropolitan Police at all sorts of levels actually does,' he added.
He added that by 2003, 10 per cent of the BBC's UK workforce and 4 per cent of management would be from ethnic minority backgrounds.
Mr Dyke added: 'You can have all the equal opportunities policies you like, but if actually, the gateman doesn't let blacks through the gates, you've got a problem, haven't you? I don't believe the BBC is like that, but we are not saying, 'what are we going to do about this?'.'
A spokeswoman for the Commission for Racial Equality said Mr Dyke had made similar statements before but welcomed his latest remarks.
She said: 'I welcome his acknowledgement that there's a problem and that he's trying to do something about it.
'I think the key is getting the senior management to reflect the society we live in and that's a real challenge because once that situation is sorted then that will obviously have a beneficial knock-on effect on the rest of the corporation.'

In January 2013, the head of Rotherham Council, Martin Kimber, was summoned to the select committee to explain the lack of arrests for sexual abuse, despite South Yorkshire Police saying it was conducting several investigations and the council having identified 58 young girls at risk.[25] MP Keith Vaz questioned why, after five Asian men were jailed in 2010, more was not being done: "In Lancashire there were 100 prosecutions the year before last, in South Yorkshire there were no prosecutions". The council apologised for the "systemic failure" that had "let down" the victims of child sexual abuse.[25]
The select committee issued a report on 18 October 2014, that claimed that files containing information on alleged failings by the authorities to investigate abuse had been stolen from the office of a Rotherham Council researcher in 2002. The allegations were made in private hearings of the committee, which concluded that both the council and South Yorkshire Police had ignored evidence about the scale of the abuse.
n October 2012, almost a year after his death, an ITV documentary examined claims of sexual abuse by Savile[10] and led to extensive media coverage and a substantial and rapidly growing body of witness statements and sexual abuse claims, including accusations against public bodies for covering up or failure of duty. Scotland Yard launched a criminal investigation into allegations of child sex abuse by Savile spanning six decades,[6] describing him as a "predatory sex offender", and later stated that they were pursuing more than 400 lines of inquiry based on the testimony of 300 potential victims via 14 police forces across the UK.[11][12] By late October 2012, the scandal had resulted in inquiries or reviews at the BBC, within the National Health Service, the Crown Prosecution Service, and the Department of Health.[13][14][15] In June 2014, investigations into Savile's activities in 28 NHS hospitals, including Leeds General Infirmary and Broadmoor psychiatric hospital, concluded that he had sexually assaulted staff and patients aged between five and 75 throughout several decades.[16]
When was the last time you heard of a group of white men, targeting a black man and beating him, for being black and in the wrong neighborhood? Or a gang of white people going into a convenience store and "flash mob rob" the place? Or how about a gang of white men raping a black woman? Statistically speaking - it NEVER happens. However, it's so common to see a gang of blacks going "Polar Bear Hunting" or playing the "Knock out game", robbing, muggings, rapings, thefts are so common that they are an everyday occurrence. They happen everywhere.
And if you point out that blacks make up only ~12% of the population, yet contribute greater than 50% of the violent crime - you are labelled a racist. If you point out that blacks make up only ~12% of the population, yet overwhelmingly are over-represented on welfare recipients, you are also a racist. Yet, these are measurable, quantifiable and verifiable facts. Name the vice, whether it's gangs, drugs, teenage pregnancy, alcoholism, rape, burglary, identity theft, robbery or gun related criminal activity - blacks are way over-represented. To say anything else is simply a racist lie - because these facts are very easy to verify.
Why do Asians, whites and people from India feel comfortable congregating together? Because, statistically they are safe in each other company.
Instead of pointing the fingers at the victims of the crimes, how about we actually ask the black community to join the rest of civilization? Blacks have a cultural problem - no matter where you go in the world, no matter what time period in human history you pick - these problems are persistent, and the same tired excuse it trotted out over and over again. Everyone else is racist.
posts like this make me despair.
Why? I thought cold, hard facts were generally a good thing. Or are they a bad thing, when you expose a hoax; and you like pushing the agenda of the hoax? Everything I said, is painfully true, agonizingly apparent - yet totally ignored by the perpetrators. For example, did you know that if you took the gun violence in Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, New Orleans and New York and did a racial analysis, that approximately 86% of these crimes are committed by Blacks. If you add in Hispanics, the rate rises to 99.8%. This means, that in 2014 only 0.2% of the crimes committed in these cities are other than Black/Hispanics. Yet, mysteriously; this isn't tracked and these facts are not reported.
White guys lecturing us on the fine points of what racism is. Hilarious.
But white guys are the biggest victims of racism, don't you know¡
Actually, yes they are.

Even with all that, who went around the world conquering countries and mass murdering the indigenous people found in them?
Every race that ever lived.
Who created modern medicine?
Why do they speak English in Australia, South Africa, and in many parts of the world. Why is Spanish spoken in so many countries? England, Spain, France, Portugal, and others went around trying to conquer the entire world killing massive amounts of people. Even if other races tried the same they weren't as successful as England, and Spain.
And who created many of the diseases we have today?
Why is cancer so prevalent in the US?
Why do we have to enrich flour when wheat was full of nutrients?

It’s my recollection that the BBC covered up the mass rape of British children in Rotherham for a decent amount of time.
Don’t want to be “racist”, after all.
Ah - so it was a comment on whether they are "one of the most respected broadcaster in the world" rather than on "because it can and does take the government to task".
You might want to re-read your history. England's goal was to "Make the world British", not exterminate them. If you want to point the fingers at exterminators, you might want to look at Spain. Not a whole lot of Inca, Myan or Aztecs left in South America. On the other hand, countries under British rule did exceedingly well. They learned English, math, science and medicine, they began to trade on a grand scale with Europe. One could argue that the British Empire was one of the best things to happen to mankind.
Unless banging rocks together and living in a grass hut for the next 1,000 years sounds like a better idea.

So not continuing to use minority tax dollars to fund programming that appeals to an almost exclusively white audience is racist?
Yes, I know about that hoax, sure.
Since you did not show any evidence that the article was inaccurate, I'm dismissing your "hoax" comment as having no merit or basis in fact.

You seem very proud of the fact that your simplistic attempt to hide text failed. That's odd.

Thanks for admitting it.
You should read this article entitled "Traumatic brain injury may lead to difficulty understanding sarcasm":

Your entire post had not a single shred of evidence that you had ever been denied admittance to any prestigious organization or luxury home community due to your race. You did not name even one incident.

Oh yes, the BBC is state media, isn’t it... But unless I’m mistaken, the shareholders aren’t the people.
Almost as though I made no consideration for the complexity of the attempt at hiding. If I really wanted to hide text, I’d do it like I did in this post.
Yes, we know you have absolutely no rebuttal whatsoever and cannot even begin to disprove what has been posted.
Yay! You don’t get it at all! Just like I already said!
Also, you can’t have two accounts.
The BBC isn't state media. It's funded via a licence but is independent from the government. It's an odd set up but does mean it's one of the most respected broadcaster in the world because it can and does take the government to task.
If contributers for this site can have two accounts can't members?
A license that is required by law.

Ooh, fierce! I’m on your side now.

Elaborate?
I'm assuming Tallest is referring to the Rotherham sex abuse a scandle but I could be wrong
Elaborate?
It’s my recollection that the BBC covered up the mass rape of British children in Rotherham for a decent amount of time.
Don’t want to be “racist”, after all.

I think you may be mixing up the Rotherham scandal with the Jimmy Saville scandal.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotherham_child_sexual_exploitation_scandal

Actually, yes they are.
If you're going to create the problem you can at least create the solution, and get super rich in the process.
Elaborate?

And what happened to those that didn't want to be British?
What's wrong with living in a hut and banging rocks?
The world would be a much better place if we still lived like that.
