I have an iPad Pro and haven't had this issue but what's with the influx of Apple bashing trolls? Go back to your homes at MSFT or Google and bash your own stuff; the Surface Book and Nexus 6P have plenty of problems but when there's an Apple issue, insane hysteria and hyperbole run wild with the tired tropes like this wouldn't have happened under Steve Jobs. Give it a rest already.
Another awesome Tim Cook rollout. No Pencil or Keyboard for 5 weeks after launch, screen blackout and an extremely poor job optimizing iOS 9 for the Pro. The wasted space on the Pro is pathetic.
Yeah, why isn't Tim Cook inspecting every single device that rolls off the assembly line... And for the matter why isn't Tim Cook assembling them himself too! He needs to be standing behind his Chinese slaves and whipping them into action, so I can have my stylus and keyboard on this new iPad that I so desperately hate to use because all of the wasted space that could've gone to more battery and made the device too heavy and sound like crap so I could've complained about that instead!!!
Again using their Customers as their Beta testers....
If Tim Cook appoints a SVP of Software Quality, I will be impressed. But there has never been such a C-level executive, so it's not that important to Apple.

These people need to perpetuate the lousy quality control mantra they're spreading around the interwebs. The irony of the "Steve Jobs would never..." is that by bashing Tim Cook they're basically saying that Steve Jobs made the biggest mistake in Apple's history, thereby simultaneously saying Steve Jobs was an idiot. Logic that falls flat on its face.
Sad to see that Apple's once vaunted quality control continues to decrease each year.
So much for the old "it just works" system of old.
According to Phil Schiller, Apple quality has not declined, and points to some mysterious internal metrics that the public has no visibility into. And he says that with a straight face when challenged about Apple's software quality. I don't know what to believe, because I distinctly felt much more confident in installing, say, Snow Leopard or Mountain Lion. Not so much iOS, which has always been buggy since 1.0.

I find iOS 9 to be a significant improvement to prior updates. Are you just referring to appearances? Because I think there is definitely room for improvement with regard to usability.
AFAICT that is a grave misconception. We use Apple equipment since 1983, in my current company since 2004, and the amount of returns and repairs has never been lower than it is today. What has increased is the hysteria of entitled cretins who rather post the same alarmist stuff to a dozen sites before even trying to have the vendor fix something.
The magnifying effect of the internet megaphone? I wouldn't doubt it.
Ultimately, and this isn't a slam, but these things happen with new devices. (Goodness knows the Surface Book is a mess) Part of why I'm waiting for revision 2 (at least) on the iPad Pro and Apple Watch.
First of all, this isn't a wide spread issue. (Most aren't.) Like everything else Apple, as soon as someone sees even a single complaint about something it spreads all over the internet like a wild fire. So far there's a little over 300 replies in that thread, most of which are chatter by the same people - on the first page alone there are 3 entries by the same user.
I have an AppleTV 4 and I don't have any regrets, it works fine... it's a lot better than the Apple TV 3 that it replaced.

Oh... you're absolutely correct, I never thought of it that way... We should listen to you, because your anecdotal experiences provide a much more accurate gauge on how many users each issue is affecting as compared to in the past.
...And Apple only has the ability to collect reports and issues directly from their users all over the world, which obviously would be far, far less accurate, because yeah, people don't complain as much as they used. So the fact that they might be seeing less and less of reports from users, obviously means their system is screwed up.
They should hire you. You're fracking brilliant!!!

All true. They probably had the release date fixed with production on all of the units and accessories commencing according to the release schedule. However, this seems the kind of issue that would have shown upon user testing though so at least a patch would have be in the works for release shortly after the product went live. But who knows, maybe it did and they were already working on the fix but haven't found what was causing the issue yet.

Like the G4 Cube, right? Or the "Yikes!" motherboard? No problems, ever!
You mean like the GPU issues with MacBook Pros? I'm pretty sure that happened under Jobs. Same with the iPhone 4 antenna issue.

Hey, you leave the Cube alone.
I'm not even sure how you'd charge something that big over a 500mah port.
Though the GPU's in the 2008 models was nVidia's fault. I'm still seeing failures of that series in PC's.

Speaking of pathetic...
Forced cold restarts are normal for Windows PCs. My computer at work stops responding to Ctrl-Alt-Del every few weeks.

FWIW, "mAh" would be capacity, and many USB ports do deliver 1A (1000mA) today, which is the same as the 5W power adapter.
1A can charge a tablet as long as it's not being used. I go with nothing less than a 2A charger nowadays.

Except the iPad Pro gets a 2A, 12W power brick.

Nice, but waiting for second version is always a safe bet.
