why on earth would anybody want to buy a computer from a company that uses pop-ups on their website?

Anyways, i wouldn't doubt it if Apple legal goes after this...

Gateway claims that the Profile 4 is cheaper than an iMac. Yet they fail to mention that the cheap gateway doesn't have the same specs as the iMac.

The gateway comes with a CD-ROM...while the iMac comes with a CD-RW....

Maybe because pop-ups on websites displaying little promotions have nothing to do with the quality of the machines made by the company.

Why would someone buy a Mac when Steve Jobs wears ugly turtlenecks?

    Stunning logic.

In violation of the 1984 "No Being Mean To Apple" Act?

groverat: May I remind you that this is a pro-Apple board, and, given that fact, no - and I DO mean NONE - slams against Steve Jobs' wardrobe is tolerated. You have been warned, and I'm watching you.

sigh. Yes, fellas, I was kidding. I was being funny. heh

Torifile: unfortunately, only a minority of the population grasp irony. Such is life.

My apologies, Gambit. I used to consider myself one of those people who could grasp irony but I guess I need to revise that assumption. :o

Truth be told, I stopped reading at the first few words. Being a recent switcher to the Mac, my sensitivity level must be rather higher than normal. I reread your message and the irony is indeed pretty obvious. I'll pay more attention next time.

It's okay. But, just in case you missed it, I was being "funny" again in that last message to groverat.

Edit: oh! Of all people, I can't believe YOU missed it, though. You work across the river from me, how can you not get sarcasm? That's what Bostonians are known for! (Well, that, and driving like a-holes, but that's more of a MA thing then a Boston thing.)

yea hamshit, it happens... on other boards I frequent, people there rarely ever get when I am being ironic or facetious, they usually slam me for it, then when I explain the say somethign to the effect of "oh well....that kind of humour is hard to express on the internet...so be careful next time"

but thats just the internet for you...people can be infinitly understanding, or infinite assholes.

oh and so you don't get offended, hamshit isn't anything against you, on other boards I frequent its a common game to make insults out of others names(or at least come up with something funny)

I leave it in there in jest
