Watch out for the, "holy sh!t, did you ever just blow it!" interviewer move - it works like this ...

    interviewer says something innocuous ...

    you respond ...

interviewer gets visibly very "dissappointed" with your answer, to the point where it's "very obvious" you blew the whole interview.

and then, in the silence, you're forced to respond ...

This seems to be a management fad of late - though it got started a while ago - the idea seems to be a character test and to see how the interviewee responds under pressure, "can they handle themselves?". Frankly, I don't really see what the hell it accomplishes, because short of somebody pulling out your toe-nails during an interview, you're very unlikely to tell anybody to "p!ss-off" anyway.

I had it pulled on me at a very large accounting company ... I passed, but all it managed to do was make me think my new boss (the interviewer) was a egotistical dork, and god only knows what it proved to him about me.

oh yeah, I got the job.

    Anyway, be for-warned.

I've alway want to go into an inter view, with the intentions of telling them to piss off. I figure it would make a funny story and interviews after that would be easier.

... last I heard Keith Moon already beat you to it, now this might be only a story, but ...

Apparently, when Keith got bored drumming for The Who and was into some naughty mischief - which was often - sometimes he'd check out the Help Wanted section of the paper ... get dressed up ... and take job interviews, for fun, and naturally, with a bit of a twist ...

During the interview, he'd act as normal as it was possible for Keith to act, and then, half-way thru, he'd fake a total spasm, and then carry on, straight faced, like absolutely nothing happened (ya gotta love Keith).

    Apparently he got hired once.

(sort of a reverse on current "freak out the interviewee" tricks)

    Interview is done with!

The Managers` that interviewed me were really great people! Being around apple employees is like taking prozac, you can't help but feel more chipper when you walk into an apple store and talk to the employees

I think I nailed the interview! They seemed really interested in me and seemed overall very pleased with the answers I gave. I never had any of those "omg you blew it!" stunts pulled on me, but they did put me on the spot a couple of times, but it all in all it went really well!

I'll know sometime next week if I get the job

I'll be crossing my fingers til then!

If you were asked " Why do you want to work for Apple?", I hope you answered "So I can get reliable rumour material for AI".
