<a href="http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph/?host=www.apple.com"; target="_blank">Look at the Netcraft graph</a> their uptimes really hit the craper when they switched from Solaris to Darwin/OS X.

It worked for me! I would say there was nothing wrong with it, except for your ISP as suggested in aboove post.

Interesting that Solaris/OSX server comparison at Netcraft

no, this was early this morning...couldn't get mail and couldn't get through to apple.com....from home and then from work (different computers, different isp, different os)...but the site came back up soon after...never thought it was going to be an update, was pretty sure it was apple "burping" again...hence the ai site vs apple site stability joke....g

(note to self...must add more smilies when being sarcastic)

Perhaps your connection problems were due to <a href="http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20021003/ap_on_hi_te/internet_outage_2"; target="_blank">this</a> problem at Worldcom today? Apparently a good deal of the Internet backbone was affected.
