West coast colleges and Powerbooks

This is a spin off from a thread in FH.



Who can report of being offered a 667 for 1900 at your campus? Do you have to show proff that you attend the college? Anyone from Irvine seen this?



This could be my way to a new PB. If I bought the same here it would cost me 3650 and they are NEVER discounted.

    I got a mac with an education discount calling Apple and simply saying I was a student. No proof of any kind needed.

    Was that recently (within the last couple of weeks)? And do you know if those who are at UCLA in Irvine have the same offer?

    There is no UCLA in Irvine. UCLA stands for Univ of California, Los Angeles. So it would be UC - Irvine. Just givin' ya a hard time.

    Okay its not UCLA but University of California, Irvine I just found out. But at least I figured out the way to their Apple store. Its here:

    Now I need to find out if my old contact still goes there.

    The Scholar's Workstation at UC Berkeley has the PowerBook 800 MHz for $2399 and the 667 for $1899. ID is required of course.

    Stanford University is also 1899 and 2399 for the 667 and 800 respectively.

    My friend who works for a specialist says Apple's pro products are just selling like sh*t. I think this is a perfect example. UCLA has been offering this discount on Powerbooks since July.
