This has got to be the biggest misconception among Mac users.
Apple buys their hardware (RAM, Hard drives, LCD's, video cards, CD/DVD/CD-RW/DVD-RW drives) from the same people that dell, Gateway, eMachines, etc. buy them from.
If you think Apple is getting "magical better quality Hard drives" from someplace, you're wrong.
It's all bought in bulk, from the same people.
But yes, you are right about the OS thing. X is clearly in a league of its own....</strong><hr></blockquote>
I'd agree with you, well ok ok I do agree with you, but i'm ALWAYS seeing PC parts fairl and people saying 'their HD died", "their monitor died", "their mb fried"...ect
If its diff HW, then windows must be rough on the board somehow, becuase although i know there are many PC's that are 5yrs and older with no problems, the fact is that their are more with i'd think. The biggest problem with mac HW i've ever had is the 17" studio display that was shipped with the B&W G3 had to be sent back this year because of a problem of eletric discharge. Well i'm not sure what it was, but it seemed like it. That is out of 5 macs, ranging from the IIGS, to the QuickSilver

Part of that is Windows and its stupid IRQ's and crap.
But i know of lots of mac's that have had parts "go bad"
Ex: my mothers hard drive went a year after the machine was bought.
remember the big slot loading iMac fiasco...something about the analog board or something a few years back...

Are you telling me you can't see no difference? Hyundai may use same leather in the interiors of their cars as BMW but don't tell me the quality of the BMW is 10 times the one in the Hyundai or whatever budget car
Me too, but sometimes they just make sense. Quality of Apple's assembly is simply better than the average PC, same applies to 'high end car' vs. the budget one. It's just a matter of fact
