I would not want <a href="http://www.apple.com/switch/ads/giannijacklone.html"; target="_blank">this guy</a> running my IT department. What IT department does he run? Death Row Records?

Oh man is he going to regret having his email up there.

    So...tempted...to...write...must...hold...back...

    [quote]I?m an IT director.

Me and Macs, we have a very tight connection. It?s new, though. I just switched about three months ago.

I?m a real switcher though. I know you?ve got a lot of people who think they?re switchers. I?m a switcher. I?ve been working on Windows for 10 years. I?ve been working on UNIX for seven. And I?ve hated Macs my entire life.

The new Mac OS X is the bomb, hands down. I love it. I never thought I?d say that, either. Everybody in my office is flabbergasted.

    I?m a UNIX lover. I?m a Linux lover. And that?s why I?m a Mac lover now, really.

I?ve got a wall in my room. I?ve got 15 computers on a wall, and a desk that raises with hydraulic lifts, so I can feel like a mad scientist at 5:00 in the morning, just typing away. It?s really sick. Half of them are Windows, half of them are Linux. None of them are Mac. Okay?

I go to my executive director. I say, ?Look, I?m really starting to feel this new Mac thing. We?ve got all these Macs. I?m starting to work on the command line. I?m feeling it. You?ve got to get me one of these G4 laptops. I need one of these titanium laptops.?

She purchases the laptop for me. Now what do I do? I?m sitting on my couch with a soda, looking at my wall of 15 computers. I?m not a mad scientist anymore, because I don?t need 15 computers. I?ve got one. I?ve got one computer. I do it all on my Mac. Okay?

It is a whole new world of computing. It?s the bridge. Because you?ve got power on the bottom, and you?ve got simplicity and interface on the top.

Three months. I use it for everything. It?s great. And I feel bad, because my wall of computers that I?ve spent so many nights up until 5 in the morning, just like mad scientist-ing away, is kind of getting a little lonely, because I just don?t use it too much anymore.

Let?s get the word out. I mean, please. You guys are doing it. Because you know, if you get a guy like me to say, ?Okay, the next 300 computers we buy are Macs,? then you really start gaining some market share. So you know, you don?t just want to focus on the little guy. I mean, I know you designed this operating system basically for a guy like me, too. I?m really happy about that. I appreciate it.

I've seen a lot of people who "don't put off a good image" that can do wonders with computers and networking.

But I don't like the idea of giving a $3,000 computer to a guy in a sweatsuit.
