The law also is not above the law.
Makes me think about a certain movie with Sylvester Stallone: "... It's impossible! I never broke the law, I AM THE LAW!

Let's see what happens when Sherrif Numbnutz here demands Apple unlock someone's phone from this little dirt town. He'll really be itching to get his hands on Tim Cook.

This may have already been said earlier in the thread (it's four pages plus now)... but I feel the need to vent:

There's no such thing as a legal order to do the impossible! And it's illegal to arrest somebody for not doing something that can't be done. If Bubba Grady gets some ignorant judge to sign a warrant that says, Apple, crack into your own secure enclave chip on this iPhone 6, and neither Apple nor anyone else on Earth knows how to do that (even theoretically), then the order is invalid and no one can be legally arrested for disobeying it, because there actually isn't any such thing as obeying or disobeying an order to do the impossible. It would be like arresting someone for "disobeying" a court order to locate Amelia Earhart's plane before sundown today.

You're the worst piece of shit. It's all funny until your father is beat to death over a traffic stop or your child is raped by a cop and let off scot-free...
I hope one day you experience the cruelest crimes upon you or your loved ones as a slap in the face to your own cruelty. Maybe that day we'll have thousands of puppets laughing at your slain father or raped daughter "LOL"!!

Copblock.org. Read about all the crimes these pigs commit daily that the media refuse to cover...
Losers like gator were laughing and said the little girl deserved the beating as she laid in the hospital.

    .
Your statement is both repugnant and personally offensive sir. I've not ever seen anyone cheer when a child is beaten, tho apparently you have. I do hope you jumped in to stop it. It's certainly not something that would be tolerated for even a moment by Grady Judd, tho perhaps in your neck-of-the-woods it's different.

I've not used the word "pig" when referring to police officers since my ignorant teenage burn-my-draft-card and don't-tell-me-I-can't-toke-at-the-concert days. Paint 'em all with then same brush eh Cali? Yeah I know lots of less-fortunate folks around here who supposedly hate the cops. . . until they need one.
    Oh dear.

Seems to me that you were in the minority of AI posters supporting the authorities when Apple was fighting the warrant, and I know for a fact that you weren't around when the trolls were thick. Your pals Google came around with an amicus brief. Even now you appear to support the authorities over personal privacy.

I'll take the Left Coast anyway over Florida, which is too feudal for me, thanks very much.
This has nothing to do with whether Apple is right or wrong. See my first comment in this thread. Sheriff Judd was asked a question about Apple by some reporter, I assume because they know Judd isn't shy about offering his opinion. That's why I said "ignore it". It means nothing. At the same time the Polk County Sheriff is not as backwards, corrupted or unconnected to tech as some here, with likely zero knowledge of him or time to bother to research want to claim as fact. If it's worth commenting on then IMO it's worth knowing that what you say has some factual basis. Otherwise why bother with what's essentially unhelpful and inaccurate filler?

Grady should go back to sheriff school and learn that he is paid by Floridians to be of service to the people, not an obnoxious egoistic dick who can't bare others in not believing in his corrupt ideologies.
He's actually far from corrupt. On the contrary he could be one of the least corruptible sheriff's in the South. But he dang sure is hard-nosed, following the law to the letter.

He has zero tolerance for porn with not even a single adult bookstore remaining in Polk County since he took office a few years ago, much less a topless bar or massage parlor. He runs regular stings for prostitution, both the prostitutes and the johns, and if you're even suspected of child porn you're on his radar, with a section of the sheriff's office dedicated to ferreting out folks who look for or download anything even remotely considered child porn.

He's quick to arrest anyone he believes is guilty of animal cruelty or improperly caring for livestock. Before Judd became sheriff things like dog-fighting were also a poorly hidden secret. Not anymore, they're raided and shut down as soon as Judd gets wind of them.

Grady Judd also has little tolerance for on-line bullying of kids with even high-schoolers subject to arrest if they cause someone harm as a result. He aggressively investigates Facebook users boasting of a crime, (or God-forbid taunting him to catch them!), has arrested his own officers when suspected of doing anything unlawful, has created one of the country's best police training academies and on and on.

With that said he's never met a camera he didn't like.
Sounds like he'd be a big fan of Sharia law.  But apparently he not to familiar with the law here in the states.
It would be entertaining to see him try and arrest Cook in Cupertino.

    Why so judgemental?

What's gone unnoticed apparently is how intolerant and quick-to-judge some of the posters are who complain most loudly. My comments based on actual examples had to do with Judd as a Sheriff, where IMHO he's done an admirable job cleaning up the mess left behind from previous sheriffs. From what I can see in other comments I look to be in the minority of members who actually know anything at all about Sheriff Judd. Perhaps you've taken the time to look into it?

Florida Sheriffs were caught working directly with drug dealers.
They need to step back and shut up, before they make themselves look any more stupid.

Maybe this Ahole sheriff should first arrest GM's CEO for covering up the ignition switch issue in their cars that actually killed people.

How about ordering someone to turn a block of lead into a bar of gold? Who can obey this order?

Yeah, very bizarre.  Definitely hiding something or making up for something really bad.

You were the one that was posting with such pride of the Sheriff; I only responded to that.

    You don't support Apple. That's a given.

Hardly. Perhaps you might want to read the news reports about the incident before commenting.
