Sign Whitehouse petition to support Apple on encryption

Sign the Whitehouse petition here:

Hurry, there are currently 23,000 signatures. 100,000 are needed by March 18 to require a Whitehouse response.
The title of the petition is: 

Halt efforts that compel Apple and other device makers to create a "backdoor" for the Government to access citizens data

    Keep in mind that White House petitions are meaningless. The president does not create our laws. That's the job of Congress. What matters is calling your representatives to register your complaints. Your elected representatives are there to REPRESENT YOU. Call them to politely, but firmly, express your opinion.

    The President doesn't create laws. But he is in charge of law enforcement, which includes the FBI. He does have the authority to tell the FBI to stop pushing for what is not technologically feasible.

    True. But I also rub my dogs nose  in their misbehavior when they take a dump in the house. Of course, they tend to actually learn that it's wrong and demonstrate shame.

    Historically, the Continental Congress continued trying to communicate with King George and trying to get him to correct his abuses even after the shooting had started. We certainly haven't reached that point.

    Yes, congress creates the laws. However the executive branch carries out the laws and that includes using the courts to get its way. How will anyone take opposition to the FBI's position on this seriously when "Tell the EPA to withdraw its proposal to prohibit the conversion of vehicles into race cars" gets 167,000 votes versus 23,000 votes supporting Apple.

    And what makes anyone think he’s going to stop? What makes anyone think he’s actually going to listen to the people? We ARE to the shooting point. It’s the only thing they understand.

    I'm pretty sure he won't. But I'm also fairly certain we haven't had a "Concord Green" moment yet. I would really like to avoid that, because ballistic arguments so rarely turn out well. Therefore, I think it behooves us to do everything possible to the honorable thing and seek peace. If that can only be achieved after an exchange of hot lead, it should be obvious to history that it is their fault, not ours.

    It’s physically impossible for the government to win a civil war. Their own studies have proven this. The second it devolves to shooting, they lose. The only thing they can do is continue to use the media to paint those who fight for their constitutional rights as ‘terrorists’.
