Perhaps it was someone who was getting laid off... I recall seeing that Apple was ridding itself of overworked contract workers. They just recently had a change in recruiting procedures too. These guys at this company have no work life balance... long horrible hours with high stress levels probably leading to emotional distress and then suicide. If you look at the report, the fire department was waved off... probably because whoever killed them self fired a gun through their own head, possibly after attempting to attack the other person who was walked off the campus. This would lead one to believe an argument occurred... perhaps someone getting fired.
Why is this Breaking or tech news ? People die for various reasons and death has no set place to arrive.
The title of this site is Apple Insider, not Breaking Apple Tech News. The body was found inside Apple so the story does seem to have some relevance. If you think about it really hard for a while, you might spot a connection.
According to the sheriff's dispatch call there was a female employee involved in an argument on the campus — and she was being escorted out by security when she sustained a head wound ... possibly from a gunshot.
Doesn't sound like a "spontaneous health issue" to me. Look forward to updates on this one.

Has nobody ever died at Apple before?, because I've been reading this site for many years and this is the first time that I can recall seeing such a headline about somebody dying. "Dead body found at" sounds like it's out of a Agatha Christie novel or something.

When someone dies it isn't news. When someone dies and there is the remote chance of spinning it for more anti-gun propaganda, its a headline.

We have had people die at the place I work and this location is nowhere near as big as Apples. In this case natural causes did the old guy in. Rather upsetting when it is somebody respected and well liked.
The reality is people die every hour of every day, it isn't something that should shock anyone. Better to die in bed but people do it while driving cars and all sorts of other things.

"Dying" and "Murdering" are two very, very different things.
An employee having an unfortunate heart attack - that's sad but doesn't create any social ripples.
An employee being murdered by another - that's tragic, and RIGHTLY shocking.
Let's not trivialize murder, OK?
To the person that dies it doesn't make much difference. As far as murder goes it can be accomplished in any number of ways and frankly a cold blooded shooting is not shocking. Sad maybe but people are being murdered everyday in far more gruesome ways.
It's far too early to comment but the entire thing should be made public once the investigation finalizes.
Also, I think it's a strong argument for gun and metal detectors and searches at the workplace.
Universities too for that matter...

As for searches and metal detectors - HELL NO! We have lost enough of our freedom over terrorism and other bug a boos that get amplified past all reason. The reality is we as humans are surrounded by weapons every day no matter what we do for a living. In a nut shell the police state mentality must come to an end.
